I had a little chuckle to myself at the first answer on here, as I saw what he/she had seen in the question as absurd.

Then I had a think about it, and saw where you were coming from, cos Iv been in a position myself over something similar to this.

When I lost my hubby I met someone and ... long story but some time ago I had the overwhelming urge to try and find out where 'this person' is today.

I had information, such as a name and initial of surname. I knew town and DoB.

I suppose I'd just have liked the chance to let him know WHY I didnt let anything come of the friendship, senseless isn't it?

I have to admit to visiting the microfiche library about 50miles away from where I live, looking to locate ALL births in the town; in the quarter & year I knew under the surname initial I had.

Looking back, this was stupid......

But it would definately be handy if the site that was here online was able to search this way instead of having to feed in the name at the start, so under that logic, I would have to agree with you, It would be good!!

Wouldn`t that be a bit ridiculous ? Suppose you looked up "John" for example . You`d get about 9,894,368 of them ........ give or take a million . Then you`d scroll down to "John Smith" ...........Only 4,277,083 to choose from , and so on .

You could spend 1/2 your life looking up one name .

On the plus side , if you`re looking for "Wezdrgrowzniczki Dzvrobfrozjrowitz" , It should take only a few seconds .

You just type the first name and click search

now why would u wanna do that? how in the world would u find the person u are looking for? not unless u looking for ppl with yahoo handles tht would be pretty easy to look up. u lost me there. dont see logic in ur question,

I've checked the last answer. On Yahoo Search the count for "John" is 852 million and for John Smith 280 million. There's nothing for "Wezdrgrowzniczki ".
