does anyone know any free family tracing sites to find my birth dad ? in the uk

I don't think that you will be able to find your dad through a free family tracing site. there will at least be some sort of charge if you want to do it properly and usually they have to register with the site as well. And you have to be over 18 to be able to access information.

If he is not registered on social networking sites then I doubt he would be registered with any free family tracing sites unless he wants to trace you too.

If you know his name maybe you could try the directories (there is one if you are with Orange)

Try 192.com. The indices are free, but you have to pay to get actual addresses. Minimum cost £10 for 5 credits, so it's not excessive if you are desperate. The more info you know, the easier the trace, although if he is one of the people opting to have his details kept out of the public domain, there won't be anything in the indices.

If you know what area he lives in maybe you could put an ad in the paper or you could out one in a national paper if you think he might read one of those.

Is there any way you can access the electoral roll? There are few sites that suggest that you can pay to view it, but I haven't used them so wouldn't know whether they're trustworthy.
