Question:

Wedding Ceremony & Reception Venues on the Gold Coast or Brisbane?

Ok. I've had ample time to plan for a wedding (about a year so far, with another year to go) and I'm still undecided as to where to have my wedding and reception. I have a small budget of $5000 to spend on the ceremony and reception. I need the venue/s to be between the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas (in Queensland). At the moment, my strongest lead is the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove (all the cheapest packages). But at $4000, not including food and drink (still have to find that out), it's looking to be too expensive. I thought of approaching a restaurant/cafe that doesn't usually do weddings in order to get a good deal, but the trend is that these places aren't suited for wedding receptions (thus the reason they don't do them). I thought of having a beach ceremony (the 'venue hire' is free, upon application to the council), but that leaves me with no wet weather plans and still leaves me without a reception site. Any suggestions?

  1. I don't live on the Gold Coast but I got a magazine called "Queensland Brides" which seems to have ALL the wedding venues in the state !

  2. I was just talking about this to my best friend last night. The Robina Woods Country Golf Course is quite nice and so is Banora Point Twin Towns Club. They have beautiful scenery and perfect backdrops for photos. Also there is undercover areas if it should rain. Alot of people get married there. There is also a gorgeous place in Mudgeeraba called eco studio. I did a weding up there last year and they had little cabins to stay in, undercover reception area (or ceremony if the weather turns bad) and an outdooor ceremony area where they have seats set up, also with gorgeous backdrops!

    Have fun

  3. we have similar needs for our wedding which we have booked at bundaleer gardens

they are wonderful with price, very flexable, have lovely outdoor and indoor areas and you can not hear any traffic, just birds and the wind.

  4. I went to a wedding at the st margarets chapel in the grounds of the gold coast arts centre (civil ceremony) and then the reception was held at the evergreen restaurant (cnr Ashmore & Bundall Rds Bundall). It was lovely. The chapel was $400 for about 2hrs i think no idea on the cost per head of the reception

  5. Brisbane Boys Grammer School - they have a beautiful garden area they also have a non domenational chapel beside it. Plenty of areas for gorgeous photo's great car parking space. They also have a kitchen area (obviously) and a room they call 'the great hall', that'll hold up to 300 people. You would either need to speak to the kitchen staff there or hirer a caterer. I had my wedding there. If you want email me privately and I can send you through some of my wedding photo's etc so you can have alook at the venue. We were going to use the gardens to get married in and god forbid it rained! So we had to use the chapel and having the wedding and reception in the same place suited the guests fine and they didn't have to travel all over the place. We served finger food in between. The only thing would be the bar - we had alcohol - just beer / champagne that was set up in a bar likish way in the corner. Plenty of room for dancing and DJ.......as I said you can email me privately if you like..
