Question:

Wedding Day Bloopers: Did you have to interrupt your wedding?

Most people say at least one thing goes wrong the day of the wedding (for example my husband forgot to bring a white shirt for his suit and had to get one at the last minute) or some say it just didn't go as smoothly as they thought (the best man and a groomsman were late at my wedding)

but am I the only one that had a blooper so big they had to interrupt their wedding?

I'm going down the aisle and my shoe doesnt feel right...sure enough, it's not. The right heel busts through the bottom of my shoe and is stabbing my foot! I tried to balance all my weight on my left leg and my leg cramps after a few minutes. I'm trying not to make a scene and I'm wiggling, sweating, and barely listening to my own wedding. Finally when the officiator took a breathe, I'm like "I HAVE to take my shoes off or I'm going to fall" and of course he's like "what? what?' until I said it so loud the entire congregation heard and laughed as I took off my shoes.

Anyone else have such a big blooper? interruption?

  1. I heard of a wedding once where the preacher was going crazy or was drunk or something.....he started stumbling around and couldn't remember what he was supposed to say....so instead of saying all the right things, he said something like

"hey boy, do you wanna get with this girl?"

    "girlie, how about you?"

it seems real funny, but come to find out later the preacher was actually having a stroke (he didn't know what was wrong with him at the time)

  2. We had several bloopers at our wedding.  The most memorable to our guests was probably the untiy candle going out right after we lit it.  My cousin said she was sure I was going to burst into tears; instead it must have tickled our funny bone because when we watch the video my husband and I are both trying our best not to giggle!

The one most memorable to my husband and I is the preacher totally forgot to say "You may kiss your bride".  We were just standing there looking at him and he looks totally clueless in the video for a few minutes....he finally figured out what he was forgetting!

  3. The mishaps are what make the memories =]

A friend of mine got married last year, and had several bloopers. She tripped going up the steps to the alter, spilled her unity sand, and stumbled over her vows.

  4. My fiance and I both laughed out loud when we read your story!

What a memory! thankfully I am wearing ballet slippers down the aisle lol.

  5. hehe... thats funny. guess what people are going to remember about your wedding years to come..."i have to take off my shoes or im going to fall!!!"

my cousin had a minor blooper. one of her little brothers pulled the isle runner down, it was only 25ft long & the actual isle was about 40ft long. so when he ran out he yelled for his mom as loud as he can, "mom i ran out!!! what do i do?!?!"

  6. Actually it was a blue shirt he forgot to pack...

Ours was a long distance romance (he in Tn and me in NY).....he flew up for the wedding (of course, he's the groom)....he had packed his best suit, but forgot the plale blue dress shirt he was going to wear.....and no time to find another-he's a bit chubby with a thick neck and difficult to fit........no one had a shirt he could fit into...

Panic...until I noticed he had packed a very nice solid blue knit polo shirt.........

So we improvised....he wore the polo shirt and I tell ya with the suit, vest & tie it looked good....looked like an expensive knit shirt lol....but I wouldda married him in his tee-shirt lol.....good luck.

  7. i was the flower girl at my parents wedding. on the way down the aisle i stopped to talk to my grandparents. i sat down and talked to them. my mom was waiting to start going down the aisle and the music was going and i'm sitting there chatting. i didn't want to move. my mom finally came and got me. put me back in the middle and we walked down together. it was cute...i think.

  8. Aww thats kind of cute, and its a memory. I havn't had a wedding yet, still planning but I think little things like that are fine, you need to spice up boring traditional weddings anyway.

  9. We had a few bloopers on our day also.  The ring bearer and 2 flowergirls were late.  But we had to start without them because there was another wedding after us. My train wouldn't bustle so I had the use the hanger loop that's inside the skirt to put around my wrist to carry the train.  I lost my cell phone.  My veil flew off while we were taking pictures outside.  And I kept getting tripped up in my skirt while dancing.  Like the others said it's the bloopers that make the day memorable.

  10. You want to hear something really funny. I had a lot of bad things go wrong with my wedding my maid of honor had my shoes she was 30 minutes late so we just played songs. I was walking down the aisle and i had to walk up like to steps and my wedding dressed riped everyone heard it. When I was standing there I almost fainted. The reception I had a catering service there and there was this hudge choclate fountain, my sister in law said stick my finger in it and i did got choclate on all over my dress.
