Wedding Dress Search?

I'm trying to help my sister find the perfect wedding dress. She wants something that's white but with black or purple detailing/beading/whatever. Price doesn't really matter, we just want to FIND a gown to fit her ideal wedding.

The gowns below all have some shade of purple on them. Most are available with black instead of purple. Actually, the ones with just a purple sash could be created by adding a wide ribbon sash to any bridal dress if your friend found a style of dress she liked better than these.

If she wants to add colour I suggest that she find a dress she likes and then talk to the stores seamstress about adding coloured details to it. Especially if you go to a privately owned/small shop they will probably be able to make customizations when they order the dress for her.

I really want pink details on my dress, and I talked to a sales women at a little, family owned shop about ordering the dress with a different colour sash and/or having some of the beads done in pink instead of the clear crystals on the sample dress.

Most dresses can be customized like that, but the samples won't be as colourful because they have to fit what most brides would want, and the majority just want plain white or ivory.

But since most dresses are made-to-order when they come from smaller stores (not chains like David's Bridal), those types of details can be adjusted to suit your style.  Making custom changes will also cost less than having your dress completely custom made/designed.

Since it sounds like she has a pretty good idea of what she wants, talk to a seamstress. Sometimes the perfect wedding dress is custom made.

go check out Alfred Angelo's website.  Those are some of the prettiest dresses, and many of them come with all kinds of color choices.  The only problem you may find is, not every bridal store carries them, so if she finds one she likes, it may be hard to find it in a store.  the website will also tell you what stores in your area carry them, if she does see one that she likes.  David's bridal also has a lot of dresses that closely resemble Alfred Angelo designs.
