Wedding Dress under $100?

Again, I'm turning to the wonderful people of the world to help me with my wedding planning, since apparently otherwise I am doing it by myself. I've asked before, but I just can't seem to find anything I really like....Yes, I know it's a tight budget, but I'm looking for a wedding dress for under or around $100 if one actually exists. It's for a beach wedding, so of course I'm not going to buy a $900 dress with an 8 foot train for a beach. Thank you all so so much, I really appreciate it :-) Your contributions are keeping a very overwhelmed bride sane!

You could have one made. Go to JoAnn's or another fabric store and get a pattern and enlist a seamstress, maybe a family member or friend. My SiL had her dress made by my mom for only $35. It was ivory satin with a lace overlay, short sleeves and lace edging. It was beautiful!

My BFF had hers made by my mom for only $125 and it was diamond white, strapless, boned, diagonally pleated front with hand emboirdery, a chapel train and bustle all with hand beading.

Always an option if you know someone who sews!

David's Bridal has $99 dress sales at certain points of the year. If you still have awhile before the wedding, you could catch one of the sales. They also have a collection online with cheaper prices than in the store. The bad part about that is you can't try it on.

Well you could of course try the david's bridal $99 sale.

You could also try Craigslist or E-bay for a wedding gown. Most of them are previously worn, but kept in good condition.

Or, since you're doing an outdoor wedding and don't want the huge train or big elaborate dress, trying think outside the bridal box and go with something that isn't a "wedding gown". There are white prom dresses, white bridemaids dresses, and other such things. If you looked around you might be able to find one on sale in your price range.

I got my wedding dress at the trunk sale at group usa. It is made of organza and silk. It was a 1200 dollar dress from last season and would be a perfect wedding dress for the beach. the train is only 1 foot. It's a Lisa Basset dress and only cost me 99 dollars and some change for tax.

I've gotten cathedral-length veils from them for less than $13 with shipping. The prices for gowns are very good too. I've seen them go for .99 cents plus $10.20 shipping.

David's Bridal has $99 sales online all the time.

You should also try lookin at places that sell prom/evening dresses, and see if they have any that could be used as a wedding gown.

I got my dress on ebay.  from a lady who sells new dresses.  Mine was completely new and i told her my average size and just altered it a little.  I know it sounds trashy but your wedding is not about your dress and where you got it from, it is about you and the commitment you are making with your husband.

You need to think outside the box on this one.  Don't look for a wedding dress specifically, look for a dress that will work for you as a bride.  My sister (and I love telling this story, because it's true) found her wedding dress on the clearance rack at a department store for $30.  It was a floor length, ivory dress with a chiffon overlay with some gold beading.  Once she added an ivory veil and headpiece, voila!  She was a bride.  Also, bridal salons will have sample sales, where they clear out the dresses that have been tried on, and we reduce the retail price on those suckers pretty drastically, you might luck out there.  You can also look at bridesmaids dresses, or even prom dresses.  You can find a dress for your wedding for around $100 (I've sold them before) but you really have to look around, do your homework, and think outside the box.

I have the perfect solution for you.  When the $99.00 dress sale goes on, I have yet to see a decent selection of dresses.  Certainly not any that are appropriate for a beach wedding.  Here is what you do and the dress will be beautiful.  

Log onto Davids Bridal online and go to the make a match separates for Bridesmaids.  Choose the top and bottom you like and have them made in white.  The dress will barely be over 100.00 and it will be beautiful.
