Question:

Wedding Guest Attire?

I was invited to a friend's wedding a week from now (last minute, yes) and it's outside in the local park. What would be the appropriate attire for a guest (i.e. me?) I asked her what we were supposed to wear, a dress, nice clothes, jeans, or what and she said whatever is fine. I would like to wear a dress, but what kind of dress wouldn't be overdressing or under-dressing? Thank you very much for all of your help in advanced :-)

  1. Where a nice crisp-cotton sun-dress with a cardigan or wrap handy.  If it's outside in a park it's probably a bit more casual.  A cotton-type dress will be appropriate.  Anything like a cocktail dress might be overdoing it.

    Have fun!

  2. Don't wear a ballgown, don't wear high heals, and don't wear something that trails along the ground. Other than that, do what the bride suggests and wear whatever you like. You already want to wear a dress, so there's little chance of you under-dressing.

  3. Well, you're not going to wear evening wear in a park.  I'd suggest maybe something like what you'd wear to a garden party, maybe something floral, probably long.

  4. I would wear a summer sundress, particular one that's a bit more dressy.  There are tons of sales on this stuff at Macy's and other department stores, since it's the end of the season and they are trying to get rid of their summer stuff.

  5. Nothing too fancy and flat shoes so you don't sink into the grass.
