Wedding PLanning Help?

Question

My wedding is going to be June 20 2009

And I need your help with planning

My colors are going to be Truffle Brown with Pink (havent decided on what color of pink)

The Bridesmaids is wearing a long truffle brown dress and my maid of honor will wear the same color of dress, but fancier,

The grooms mens are wearing a black tux with truffle brown vest and tie

The bouquets of the BM will be pink and white with a brown ribbon

My bouquet will be Lily's (still deciding)

My centerpieces Im making and they will be a floating candle. Gem rocks at the bottom with a flower and then the candle on top and most likely a ribbon around the vase.

The reception is at my future mother in law house. We're renting tents,tables and chairs.

The wedding is at a church, but havent picked on out just yet. Have a few in mind.

I figured the floating candles will be the wedding favors.

Im having 3 flowergirls, My daughter and 2 future nieces and my ring bearer will either be my nephew if he can make it, if not then my other future niece.

I think I will make my own invitations by going to Michaels or Target. Somewhere to buy the invitaitions and either print them out or take them to Kinkcos and have they print for me.

I might be making all the bouquets also.

DOES EVERYTHING SOUND OKAY THUS FAR? WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE OR ADD?

IS IT TOO EARLY TO START PLANNING FOR THE WEDDING AND BUYING AND PREPARING FOR IT NOW?

WOULD YOU HAVE PERSONALIZED WEDDING NAPKINS WITH YOUR NAMES AND DATE OR WOULD YOU JUST BUY NAPKINS AND NOT WASTE MONEY ON PERSONLIZING THEM?

Wedding napkins - my parents still have some left after their silver anniversary. Don't waste the money - use proper napkins anyhow, not paper ones.

First of all never is too early  to plan.. here are a couple of things that I would think about

-truffle brown vest with black tux= dark. brown and black rarely look good together. a pink vest under a black tux will look better(in my humble opinion)

-get some helpers!!!!!! START ENLISTING NOW. b/c all the do it yourself  stuff is great.. but when you do it alone it kills

- Napkins.. I wouldn't bother, at least someone in the family is handy with a needle and can do it themselves.if  you really want to personalize them you can buy appliques.. cheaper.. or  calligraphy stamps.

just a side note: many Linens and Things stores are going out of business around the country so you might as well go look around for decor items on the sale racks.. BE CREATIVE!!! I love do it yourself weddings. help out with 2... it was strestressfulut SENSATIONAL.. good luck

I like everything you have said. I am planning my wedding for June 13 2009 and I am starting to plan stuff now. I have 3 kids so I have a budget to go on. I am making most of the stuff myself which will save time and money. I am getting a head start that way when it gets here I am not lacking anything.

No it is never too early when it comes to wedding planning! I really like the brown/pink combo..although for june, I think it would be nicer if the bridesmaids and MOH had pink dresses with brown accents, and for the men to have black tuxes with pink instead of brown, I think the pink goes nicer with the black and it would be nice to see the men with a splash of color.

Target has a pretty good invite set you can buy and then print on your computer. Vistaprint.com is also REALLY cheap. They do not have the best wedding designs, the cards are def. smaller, but you can totally customize the appearance, wording and envelopes with pre-printed addresses. They will even send you a preview card(s) first.

I dont think it is necessary to customize the napkins, and most people just throw those away.

Lillies are very pretty..but pink and white roses are nice too and might be cheaper. Just make sure you get your flowers the day before or well ahead in the morning....there are so many horror stories (including my OWN) of brides getting the wrong bouquet. I was devestated...but it was too late.
