Wedding Reception Idea?

Question

If there were tambourines, maracas, etc. at a wedding reception where there was a disco, would you use them/find them fun?

It depends on the people of course, but i know that in my family, a lot of people would be hesitant to pick them up and use them.  The kids would most likely be the only ones to benefit from them...

I considered it, but then our friends with kids chose to find sitters, so I didn't figure they'd get used.

I agree with the answer below, it really depends on the people who will be attending.  If your friends and family are the sort of people who dont get embarassed easily and are into making their own music then its a great idea, but if they are a bit more solmn and enclosed then more than likely the children who attend will just make noise with them

I personally wouldn't; I'd leave that up to the band if there was one. But you should know that I'm more of a quiet/shy person. I'd have no problem dancing the evening away with friends, but I wouldn't want to be making much noise. lol

To be honest I`m more likely to find them annoying after  a while, especially when my relatives have spent the rest of the day having rather a lot to drink.

Personall, I would not use them, and I would be really awkward about it, too. I would wonder if I were at a really bad band camp or something.

However, it totally depends on your guest list. If it's jusrt family and really close friends, and you know for a fact that everyone's okay with this idea, then go for it if you really want to. However, if you're inviting some people that don't know one another, they probably won't be okay with it and will be "going to the bathroom" a lot or leaving early with a stomach flu.

I just know that at my college orientation, we had that at a party, and I wanted to kill myself. Just being' honest :)
