Wedding Reception Table Cards?

Question

When I fill out the table assignment cards, can I couple people up...

Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

Table 3

Or should each individual have their own table card. What if it's a family, would it be appropriate to write

The Smith Family

Table 3

??

I'm only asking about the table cards, I know that each person gets their own place card.

That sounds just fine by me!  No one should take offense, as long as they know where they are sitting!

Couples are typically listed together.  Minor children are listed with their parents.  Adult children however should be given their own table card as they are expected to be seperate from their parents as far as gift giving is concerned.
