Question:

Wedding Table Names?

I want to gives the tables at our wedding 'names' rather than plain old numbers. I was thinking of street names that we have grown up or lived together on???

The flipside of the table card, could explain which one of us who grew up on the street and why it is sentimental to us.

What do you think? Any other suggestions?

  1. I'm getting married in Oct and I have already got my table names done up we are using little things about us that most people don't know where we had our first kiss where to first lived together what the first gift we gave each other was the first song we danced to where we took our first holiday together and like you on the othere side we explain why it is important to us.

This gives your wedding a little something different and it is something that means somehing to both of you.

  2. That's good, but maybe you could extend it to simply places that are important to you... where you met, where you went on the your first date, a memorable vaycay you went on, the place he proposed... You could have some really cute tables! (Also include the street names because they count as places too)

  3. very good ideal, something new

  4. Great idea! We just got married one month ago here in Italy and as I am Anglo-Greek we decided to use Greek letters-alpha etc for the tables but I think your idea is lovely. All the best.Enjoy your day!

  5. Very sweet idea. If you have more tables than special streets, you could do special places generally - the restaurant where you went on your first date, the park where he proposed, the college where you met, etc.

  6. that's a beautiful idea! maybe have a matching photo, or one that means a lot to you with its story. congratulations!

  7. I think that is a fantastic Idea.

Or places you went on dates and on the flip side you could each write one memory from the date:

    ie "Movie Name"

    Other side:

Him "I remember she wore her hair down and I thought she looked amazing"

Her "He held the door open for me and I remember thinking - Wow what a gentleman"

One of them could even be where you got engaged.

    ALL THE BEST!!

  8. I love that idea. I'm from Boston and we did Boston Landmarks...people really loved it. Your idea sounds great...and unique!

  9. That's a great idea! It has become very popular to name the tables rather than number them... I like the idea of choosing something personal to you and explaining it to your guests is a nice touch!

  10. I think this is a great idea and if I was getting married any time soon I would do that..anouther idea could be to do some of your most favourite streets or streets that you went on dates on.

  11. I found an idea online.  If you like games, you can play this one -- name tables with things that are important to you and  your spouse-to-be -- such as schools attended, meaningful cities or places, the place where you met, streets where you lived, etc.  You can have the wedding guests try and guess what the significance is of a given table -- or not :-)

  12. Love it! Havent heard of this before!

I was thinking maybe names from Shakespeare's works, to tie in with love? Such as Romeo, Juliet, Portia...

  13. wow thats really nice!!!

    i thought of:

    Vintage details

NZ places as we are from nz

Our Names letters eg table A, Table M, Table Y etc.

    Romantic Venues.

we are still thinking as i havent really found anything that just pops out there.

    Good luck and congrats!!!
