Table cloths: Burgundy

Centerpieces: Sahara roses (off-white) with hypericum berries in vase with coffee beans. (Vases have an outer layer for dry beans, water & stems on inner layer.)

Napkins: Chocolate brown (attendants are wearing brown) or Ivory?

Will brown on burgundy be too dark?

  1. I love the idea of ivory napkins tied with chocolate brown or burgundy (or both) ribbon.

Another idea would be to have the burgundy napkins tied with chocolate brown and ivory ribbon. Or if you could find flowered napkin rings with your ivory roses on them, that would be pretty. I am not a fan of chocolate brown napkins for this tablescape.

  2. I think that you could do both, since ivory and the burgundy gives the most contrast I think it's important to have it...But why not do both! You could do a ivory napkin with a simple chocolate ribbon in a knot or bow, or a chocolate napkin with a simple ivory ribbon. and for added flare you can add some of the berries in the knot. Congrats on the wedding!

  3. i think ivory, to match the roses...

i agree, brown or burgandy would be too dark,

and not enough of a contrast.

  4. Go with the ivory.  Brown would be too dark, and you are already bringing in the brown with beans.  Burgundy napkins with a burgundy tablecloth would be monotonous.  Ivory will also help to highlight your flowers.  It sounds like it will be beautiful!

  5. Ivory Brown would be too much

  6. Seeing as how the centerpieces are off-white, i would go with the chocolate brown!

  7. Definitely the IVORY.  It will match with the roses and be a contrast.  I don't think the brown would look that good...and will definitely not offset the burgundy as the ivory would.

PS....I LOVE what you are doing with the centerpieces.  Very nice.

  8. That depends on whether you'll have chargers or plates set on the table as a part of your decor.

Take a look at the pic below:

Now if you will not have any chargers set on the table then the brown napkins would almost blend in with the rest of the linens.

    Versus...with charger/plate on the table.

So it can look nice with dark napkins too!

  9. Ivory, for sure.

You're inkling is correct, the brown will be too dark on the burgundy. The ivory napkins will keep the tables bright and elegant.
