Wedding Throwing The Bouquet?

Saturday is my mom's wedding. And I was just wondering if the person who catches the bouquet is the one next to get married, is it true?

It's a total myth (and this is coming from someone who believes in a whole bunch of superstitions!). I've caught 3 bouquets in my life -- one of which was literally thrown at me! -- and there I'll be the last of my friends to get married since all of them already are. Don't read too much into this one.

I've caught TONS of bouquets and I'm just now planning my wedding! lol No, it's just a superstition, but it's fun. There's another one that says if you take a piece of the cake home and sleep with it under your pillow, you'll dream of your future husband. So catch the bouquet and take a piece of cake for the road- good luck!

It is an old wives tale, but yes the boy who catches the garter and the girl who catches the bouquet are supposed to be next in line to get married - not necessarily to each other though.  ;o)

At one wedding in 2006 my fiance caught the garter and one of my girlfriends caught the bouquet.  Both were indeed the next in line to get married from this wedding - we all got engaged in the 3 months following!  

However... with my previous partner I caught many a bouquet over the years and he never popped the question!  For the best really!

lol its a myth....but kind of a nice one, I've never heard of it coming true but it would be nothing more than coincidence if it did.

It's just a fun 'myth'. However, I caught the bouquet at my older sister's wedding, and I was the next one in the family to get married!

i was 14 or 15 @ some weddings that were rite in a row and caught the first two bouquets that didn't stop the next person from getting married b4 me. plus the first time i got married was @ 20 then remarried @ 25. its just fun competition! just remind every1 of that @ the wedding so no1 gets hurt! good luck and congrats on the new family members!

I caught the bouquet at my daughters wedding 2 weeks ago and I will be married October 11th.  As far as I know I am the next in the family to get married, so I guess it IS true!

It's a myth or superstition. However - I have known several girls who did catch the bouquet and they were the next to marry. If you don't want to be married soon - bat it away from yourself!

It's just kind of a cute little old wive's tale. When I was 10 or 11 I caught the bouquet at all three weddings I went to that summer. Hopefully I wasn't the first one to get married because it's been 15 years now and I just got engaged. :)

unless the person catching the bouquet can prevent everyone else from getting married there's no real way to predict that. lol.  It's just an old superstition.  It's just a fun thing to do and say.
