  1. If the videographer won't fix it, you might be able to find someone who does video restoration services to fix it up for you.

You can try to fix it yourself, if you have the patience to experiment.

If your video is on a CD or DVD, you can extract the video (Google "DVD ripper") and edit things like brightness and contrast (i.e. with Avidemux), then write it to a new disc (i.e. with Nero) once the image is to your liking. If the video is on VHS, you will need a way to record video to your computer (like a TV tuner) to convert it to digital before you can edit it. You will likely lose quality in the conversion process, though. But then you can make as many copies as you like, and the quality won't deteriorate further.

  2. The copy that you saw was the final copy? Or does he still have to edit it?

If I were you I would definitely talk with him. Tell him that you are very disappointed with your video - it was too dark and definitely did not look professional. There isn't much that he will be able to do, except refund your money - but it's frustrating because it's not like something that you can do over. The best you can really hope for is that he will refund your money - and maybe, possibly do some editing to make the video look nicer.

  3. There's nothing you can do to fix the video. You can ask for your money back because the services provided weren't adequate. If that doesn't happen, then I would take him to court. Whatever you do, don't try to fix it on your own. Did you see any of his video's at nighttime weddings before you signed the contract? Sometimes couples don't ask to see the work that the photographer/videographer has done.

  4. i think you should, first off, ask for a refund from the videographer.  If your video is that bad, then he hasn't followed through with his side of the contract and you shouldn't have to pay for a crappy video.  Hopefully you had a photographer as well so that you still have special moments captured on film.  as far as fixing the video, i have no idea...sorry :(

    good luck!
