Question:

Wedding-Who goes first, bridesmaid or flower girl?

So here' s the scoop.....for my wedding my 7 yr old niece is going to be the flower girl. Instead of her throwing out the petals for me, she is going to be pulling a wagon! Our ring bearer is going to be in the wagon *(he's the only little man in the fam but the cutest anyway!)* and he'll be over a year old then. The wagon will be full of petals, and the ring pillow, of course. So since we are obviously non traditional here, is it okay I guess to let them go out FIRST, then the bridesmaids with the groomsmen, and then the bride? It all boils down to the music really and the song will work much better with the kids out first~!! Any comments?

  1. wow! that sound awesome, wish I would of thought of that.  Of course you can do it.  It's your wedding you can do anything you want too.

usually the brides maids go first then the maid/matron of honour, the flower girl then the bride.  but like I mention before it's your wedding day and the way you have planned it sounds wonderful.

    Enjoy your day.

  2. the flower girl and ring bearer always go first!!

  3. however you want it! there's no rules for your big day!

  4. llol

  5. The only issue with children going down the aisle first is they may not know what to do when they get to the front of the church. Take that into consideration and do what you will feel is best for your day.

  6. it's your wedding, you can do whatever you want! that's why it's your day! :o) best of luck

  7. Usually the flower girl/ring bearer go down the aisle just before the bride, after the maid of honor.  But you can do it however you want, especially if their parents are not in the bridal party and you want to make sure that they are under the supervision of some adults.

  8. traditionally the bridesmainds all go out first and the ring bearer and flower girl come out right before the bride.  But hey...it it works better, throw the kids out first, no one will even notice!

    sound priceless!

  9. It's your wedding- do it how you want it! Sounds completely adorable and I am sure that Ms. Manners won't be there to criticize you anyway. In fact, if they came out just before you did, the crowd might still be ewwing and awing at how cute they are and miss your grand entrance!

    Good luck to you.

  10. That is such a sweet idea - I love it! I thought the flowergirl and ringbearer were always first. Well, the important thing is your preference. But, traditionally - they go first anyway - and you want them to because they are not going to stand up the whole time - they will want to go be with their parents. You never give the ring bearer the real ring of course!!! So in that case it doesn't matter either.

  11. yea you can let them go first, usually they do anyways.

  12. The Ring Bearer & Flower Girl Traditionally Go 1st Anyway.

Then The Bridemaids With Their Groomsmen Partner, Then The Maid Of Honor & Best Man, Then The Bride & Groom.

I Like Your Idea. Very Cute.

You May Also Need To Consider A Pillow For Behind The Ring Bearer In The Wagon. If He Is Only Going To Be A Year Old & The Flower Girl Pulls Too Hard, That Can End Badly.

    Good Luck.

  13. Normally the flower girl and ring bearer go right before you because of the throwing of the pedals and the rings but if that's the way you picture it and if that is what works with the music then you should do it the way you want to. Its your 1 perfect, special day so do it the way YOU want it, not the way your family wants it!

    Congrats!

  14. usually the flower girl...but you do whatever you want

  15. well duh ovouisly the bridesmaid-what are you going to hold the rings through the whle ceremony????GOD!!!

  16. it's your wedding do it however you want!

    it's your day!
