Wedding color coordination question?

Hi,

My bridesmaid dresses are a pale yellow color. Would it look odd if the orchids in their bouquets were not the same shade as their dress... say, more of a golden yellow?

  1. Your best bet is to try NOT to match the yellows too closely.  If you have the same shade of yellow, those flowers will likely get 'lost' in the bouquet as the ladies hold them next to their dresses.  So I'd say you'd be wise to choose a slightly different shade of yellow, or even a complimentary color.

  2. well it would stand out better in pictures if they weren't the same color as the dress but 2 shades of the same color is gross, especially golden yellow.  how about purple

  3. no, its just another shade, it will blend in and white or cream will help tone it down

  4. I think that the golden yellow would look very nice next to the pale yellow dresses. It will make the bouquet stand out a little bit more.

Do you have any other colors you are using for the wedding? I would try adding another color to the bouquet - a light blue would look beautiful with that combination.

  5. You want to have contrast in the color of the bouquets...don't get too matchy matchy or the flowers will kind of blend in and won't show up at all in the pictures.  Actually, a GREAT color flowers with a pale yellow dress woud be purple...purple and yellow are complementary colors (across the color wheel from one another) and complementary colors always look great together.

  6. Own my opinion, An orchid with a green and purple shade on the center will be the best match for a pale yellow or calla lily (Green or maroon color)..

    Believe me it will match....

Best Wishes on your wedding day!...
