Question:

Wedding colors for spring wedding?

by  |  earlier

Plan to get married some time in May or early June, either next year or the year after (most likely the latter). I posted a question about wedding colors before, but now I've rethought my colors.

I want to use cherry and plum blossoms as a theme. So I'm thinking of using the colors as well:

Dark brown, cream, and pink.

But how well would these colors look for a spring wedding? And how would they be used?

So considering the colors and theme, I'd like your opinions:

What color would the bridesmaids dresses be? And what color would the maid of honor wear (btw, my "maid of honor" is gonna be a guy, so the color would go on his vest)?

What color would the groomsmen wear? And what color would the best man wear?

Thanks! ^_^

  1. Pink dresses with a brown sash. Pink vests... idk if that would bother them or not though and I'm not sure how well brown would look with a black tux so maybe they could use cream tuxes with dark brown vests.

  2. I like these for bridesmaids

Congratulations!  Your wedding will be beautiful!

  3. my aunt had a wedding and she wore an off-white dress

and all the bridesmaids wore maroon.

the groom wore a cream suit.

it looked really nice...i think it will be perfect for spring.

  4. Those were my wedding colors.  Cream, Dark brown and pink.  If you want to email me your email address I will send you some of my pictures.  It cam out awesome.  I used pink peonies for flowers.  The grooms men wore black tuxes with brown vests (they looked awesome.) and then the brides maids wore brown dresses with champagne colored sashes at the waist.  My tables were floor length brown satin table clothes with light pink sheer striped overlays, and pale pink peonies on the tables in off white ceramic vases.

I got so many compliments on everything.  It looked really good.

  5. Cherry blossoms are so beautiful. Excellent theme choice, especially for spring!

For a spring wedding, I would have pink BM dresses with brown sashes. I think chocolate brown is getting a little overdone and pink is making a comeback. Then have them all hold cream flowers. The pink vest on the guy MOH will look really nice as well.

Have the groomsmen in black tuxes with the pink vests as well (just give your MOH guy a different boutioniere). Or maybe have the MOH and BM is brown vests - I actually like that better.

EDIT: Black and brown are neutrals, so they go. I wear it all the time. It's classic and clean, and with a white or pink boutionere, it'll look really nice.

  6. my sisters wedding was beautiful

she used a dark chocolate brown

    rust orange and a pink...

    it was gorgeous!

  7. I think those are great colours!  They are the type of palate that can work for any season (spring, summer, fall, but maybe not winter).  My sister's wedding was 2 weeks ago and their colours were pink, chocolate and light green.  It was REALLY pretty.

We wore chocolate brown cocktail dresses (bridesmaids) which is nice because it's a dark colour so I can definitely wear it again, pink would be a little too obvious that it's an old bridesmaid dress).  Our flowers were a mix of light and bright pink gerber daisies, and the brides carried ivory and light pink roses.

Green was more of a decor colour for the tables.  They did chocolate tulle swags on the cake, gift and midnight buffet tables, green tulle swags on the head table, green candles on all the tables, and pink table runners on the guest tables.  All the flowers were in pinks, ivory/white and some small light green flowers.

I think the green could easily be substituted for more pink for your colour scheme choice.

    Good Luck!

  8. I think dark brown, cream and pink would be beautiful for a spring time wedding. I would have the bridesmaids wear pink, and have the maid of honor wear a pink vest inside his tux, and you could have the groomsmen in cream tux, with brown vests, and have your groom in something similar, but with a twist, because you want him to stand out. The best man could wear the same as the rest of the groomsmen.

I would love to see pictures from your wedding on what you do, I love your color scheme and flower theme!

  9. those are great colors! for the bridesmaids dresses, you could mix it up. 1 wear pink dress with brown ribbon, a cream dress with a pink ribbon, etc.

  10. Those colors seem good, but maybe throw in a plum color too!!  Go to davidbridal.com and look at the wedding.  Also, you can go to al's formal wear and build a tux rental.  Hope this helps.  I know you didn't ask this but, for maybe the guest book table.  Purchase a fake tree (chocolate brown, And hang candles in the tree with pink rose petals underneth the tree. Or like the picture hang them in the trees around you.

    Good Luck!!
