I've chosen Red and Ivory as my wedding color. Is that a good choice. I was thinking that the bridesmaids would were red dress and ivory wraps. I welcome any ideas.

  1. those were my colors!  it wouldn't let me put a photobucket url on here so if you wanna see them just go to photobucket and in the search type in alaina_b412 and there are my pictures!  good luck =)

  2. Red and ivory are gorgeous together and would go incredibly elegant if you added a bit of black into it all... like damask black/white table runners, damask black/white invitations with red ribbons, etc.

    All the best :)

  3. Choose colors which are symbolic not only to your and your future spouse but those which will be appropriate the season, timing of the day and theme of the wedding.

  4. Great choice.  My colors are claret (deep red) and ivory.  I recently decided to incorporate a little black into it to make it look/feel a little more formal.  The bridesmaids dresses will be claret with a black sash, which will compliment the groomsmen/ushers' black tuxes with claret tie and vest.  If you wanted to be a little more subtle than black you could do a little bit of silver or gold.  Otherwise, red and ivory would look great by themselves.  I wouldn't pick another bright color since you already have red.

  5. those are beautiful colors. Very elegant!

Will your dress be Ivory, then? I'm just wondering, because if your dress is white, it may look odd with an off white type color. But, then again, I could be wrong, and it could look fabulous!

The dress you have in mind for your bridesmaids sounds beautiful.

  6. those aren't the usual colors, lighter colors like of the rainbow is usually used, to show God  that you are thanking Him for your reunion with your husband (that He found for you), and these are the colors you will glorifying His name with, Red could stand for the Lord's blood, and the Ivory, could stand for the blessed color, mam its up to you of course, but if it were me I'd pick the ivory possibly but I'd go with one of the lighter colors of the rainbow like pink,or blue(pink would a female color to red), and blue could stand for His beautiful sky! As I said its really up to you, red/ ivory sounds more like graduation colors.

  7. Lovely.  But I would add a third accent color to keep you from looking like a sports team.

  8. If those are the colors you want, that's a great choice!  I have a cousin that did the same, and her wedding dress had a red sash across the middle, and the bridesmaids dresses were red, with a white sash across the middle.  Beautiful!

  9. I love the black, white and red look, its very bold

it would be nice if the maids wear black with ivory sashes and white flowers (perhaps with red ribbon) and you have red flowers (roses)

apart from that idea, I think yours will work equally as well

    good luck :)

  10. I like those colors but am curious what shade of red you will be using?

I chose black, white & red and ended up choosing a cranberry-red because my wedding will be end of Oct next year.

  11. I am getting married in Sept and I also chose red and ivory. I like that the red is an autumn color.

My girls are all wearing dresses from David's bridal in apple (red). My gown is in ivory.

For flowers the bridal party will have red roses with purple flowers (don't know the name but they look like purple baby's breath) and it makes the red pop.

For my flowers I am having red and white roses, and red and white calla lillies.

The contrast between the red and ivory is pretty. You can also pick an accent color to break it up a little.

  12. Ivory and Red isn't a bad choice just watch out for how much red you are using and what hue of red cause it could turn out looking like an 80's themed wedding

  13. The season of your wedding takes part in what colors you pick...when are you getting married?  Think about what colors occur in nature during your wedding season...that will help you.

  14. Red is a bit much.  What about a champagne colored dress with a red sash or ribbon?  This way you are incorporating color.
