Question:

Wedding day transportation?

On my wedding day I am planning to have a trolley take me and my girls to the church and then after the ceremony have the whole party take the trolley to the reception. In this case, I was wondering, what happens to parents? Do they just drive themselves? Should I be getting them a seperate driver? I'm just a little confused on this and want to know usually how this goes.

thanks!

  1. It doesn't matter how other people did it - it only matters what makes sense to you.  But, usually the parents drive themselves versus travle with the bridal party.

You can have the parents in the trolley with you, or ask them "are they OK to drive themselves or should you arrange a driver/car for them".

  2. If you can afford to have another driver then you can do that - but most of the time the bridal party and the parents drive themselves to the reception.

You also have to think about how you are going to get back from the reception. Are you going to hire a driver to take everyone home? Or are you going to hitch a ride? If you plan to hitch a ride with someone make sure that someone has their car at the reception site.

  3. Depending on if you mean your's and your husbands parents, or parents of your girls. If you can afford it, I would recommend having a seperate one for your parents. As far as the parents of the girls, they should be able to drive like any other guest would. Just make sure that you have a way for your girls to get back to their cars. I have seen too many people take the limo (i'm in the US) to the honeymoon, and forget about the girls.

  4. most of the time parents end up driving themselves to the recepition. In some cases, they ll go with the bride and groom depending if pics need to be taken or if your going to be going straight to the recepition. but if your going to do that, just make sure that after the recepition that the parents get a ride to their car.

  5. it is entirely up to you.  for our wedding the parents drove themselves.  we needed them to move some things to the reception hall so it was easiest.  and the hall was 2 minutes from the church...so just do whatever makes the most sense for you.

    good luck and congrats!
