  1. you might be able to sew the same material over it if you can find it

  2. The satin buttons are the best idea, but won't your veil be hanging down over your zipper anyway?

  3. Assuming there are not functioning buttons covering the zipper....

Hooks and eyes are your friend. Have your seamstress sew hooks onto one side, eyes onto the other. Easy and invisible fix.

You *could* add buttons and loops, but that would require removing the zipper. It's a delicate job that can cost some serious $$$, especially with a rush.

    Good Luck!

  4. My veil hides the back of most of my dress where the zipper is. Are you wearing one that covers it?

  5. Nobody will be close enough the even see it most likely. But I would go back to the store that you bought it from and let them look at it. Maybe they can fix it. If not, at least try to get a discount on it.

  6. one thing I always wanted with my dress was little buttons down the back, but my (almost) perfect dress didnt have them. I asked my seamstress to add some down the back and it hid the zipper well. they were just decoration and she said it only took her a few minutes to add (and my dress was very lacy and beaded) so 8 days is plenty of time.

  7. You can have satin buttons with loops sewn on.  It may be costly unless you can do it yourself.  Tell the store where you bought it that it just won't due the way it is they may have some suggestions.  You may even want to get sewn into the dress - that would close up the view of the zipper.  Course you won't be able to get out of it without ripping the stitches ~ but that's OK ~ you won't be wearing it again after the reception.

  8. Depending on the style of the dress you have a few options:

    a) have a seamstress apply a strip of bias tape, sating or fabric from the hem of the dress to the zipper to create a blind overlay.

    b) have a fake corset made that Velcro's over the zipper

    c) wear a cape or other cover up

    GOOD LUCK!
