Question:

Wedding first dance songs mix match?

my wedding is 8/31/08 my fiance likes You Got It - Roy Orbison for our first dance since it speaks for him/his feelings well. Since this song is totally a guy's song, I'd like to find another that expresses my love (a girl's feelings). My song will be played right after his like a double first dance. Any suggestions ? Thank you very much :)

  1. check out this site http://www.365weddingsongs.com for  more wedding songs.

It has ton of wedding songs which have videos/lyrics for you to choose from first dance,cake-cutting, march-in and even for your montage.

    Thanks.

  2. Two solo dances back to back as husband and wife? Personally, I think it is a bit much.  I don't know if your family is like most but most families I know are anxious to get on the floor to start the party rolling.  I would suggest agreeing on one song and use the other song as a dedication later in the night.  For example I dedicated I Cross My Heart by George Strait to my husband later in the evening, as the night went on.  Guests already have to sit through your first dance as man and wife, father/daughter dance, mother/groom dance, bridal party dance and it can be a bit much.  Let them have fun!  If I may suggest another option as a first dance I would suggest one of these dances.  Very entertaining and fun!

  3. Can't go wrong with The Big "O"!....in the same vein/tempo as "You Got It", how about Orbison's "The Only One"?

If you'd like to slow things down a bit, and use something totally unique for "your" song try one which you'll surely get comments and questions about...

Roy Orbison, of course, is long gone, having passed away in 1988. But, his co-writer Bill Dees (Pretty Woman, It's Over, etc) is still active and recently released a CD with both his own, and songs written with Roy that have previously never seen the light of day.

I think one of them, "So This Is Love", might fit what you are looking for..a sweet, 4 minute, slow-dance:

www.BillDees.com does not seem to be online any more, but I know you can order his CD from Amazon:
