  1. A)Matching is less than unimportant. I've seen weddings where the men are in black and grey, the bride in white and the bridesmaids in purple. It works beautifully.

B)If this is a day wedding, tuxedos are inappropriate, being evening wear. Morning coats or strollers would be more appropriate:

C)If this is an evening wedding, forget color. Black is the only acceptable color for tuxedos. Modern vests are too high-cut; go with black cummerbunds. (And self-tied bow ties, too. Nothing looks cheesier than a pre-tied bow tie.) Forget what other people do--the same people who wear lilac vests and long ties today would have worn powder-blue ruffled tuxedos thirty years ago. A blue boutonnière would be a tasteful way to match, if you insist on it.

  2. That sounds pretty- brown and blue are a nice combination.

Several ideas there come in to play. For one thing, your groom has to stand apart from the groomsmen, so what is he wearing? Is he wearing a cummerbund maybe and they are wearing vests? Or the other way around? Make the vest or cummerbund brown and then blue corsage or pocket decoration to match the flower choice?

My twin's fiance is wearing a tie mind you not a bowtie/tuxedo but his tie has angular thin purple stripes of different colours. This sort of covers a few bases. Maybe you can find vests for your groomsmen that are brown with blue strips, or small polka dots? Or some other design that combines the two colours? But balanced with the bridesmaids in terms of ratios. Or make your groom brown and the groomsmen blue cummerbunds, or vests, or the other way around.

I think white lilies and blue hydrangeas sounds amazing. If you go to www.ftd.com you can search around for bouquet/centerpiece ideas by flower- I use this site often for ideas. I have another site bookmarked at home (out of town presently, will be home later today), that I can send you if you email me- it also lets you search bouquets/flowers/corsages by colour, not just by flower type.

  3. I would have the men wear blue vests, brown with black tuxes would look funny. not so sure about the center pieces tho...sorry. But congrats on your wedding, I'm sure you will find wonderful ideas for the center pieces

  4. Congratulations. I've been on the outside circles of wedding planning and been blown away by the level detail that needs attention. You might want to check out this resource to save a few dollars: http://pinurl.com/c2c

  5. Go to the library and get the Better Homes & Gardens Wedding Book and similar. It will give you some good ideas.

  6. I agree with the blue vests.  It would go nicely with the blue sash that the girls are wearing.  If they wear the brown vest, it would a) look funny on black and b) too much brown.

I always direct people to google images because it's loaded with ideas:
