  1. The easiest thing is to get a gift card, for a denomination that is comfortable for you. Remember that a gift is about the gesture, not the value.

The second easiest thing is to find out if they are registered anywhere. If you don't know, and your boyfriend won't ask, common places are Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Macy's, Pier 1, and Crate and Barrel. You can search the bride and groom's name in the online registries on the store's website. If they are registered, you can purchase a gift online and have it sent directly to their home, saving you the trouble of lugging a box around (many couples prefer this anyway).

For something nice and generic, what about a bottle of wine and wine glasses, a picnic basket, cute bakeware or cookie cutters, or a coffee table book related to their interests.

  2. Find out if they have registered for wedding gifts at a particular store and then check the registry. Ask her parents, her best friend or her sister. Usually the female closest to the bride-to-be will have ideas. If all else fails, gift cards, monogrammed stationery if they still use snail mail, something else with their name/initials would also be generic.

    Good luck!

  3. Personalized picture frame or photo album with the couples name and the wedding date engraved is a great idea.  memorablegifts.com has great selection.

  4. they should have made a registry. is there going to be a bridal shower. where they're registered should come with the invite. A gift basket is good too. a dinner gift cert, a bottle of wine and glasses, a few candels, some massage oils,  and maybe even some nice silk robes and slippers.

  5. I think you should give the wedding couple something memorable from the heart. Custom handmade figurine is a unique gift for everyone!

I would highly recommend you visit http://aweddinggiftidea.com

Their professional artists will make a wonderful figurine of them. I sent them my favorite pictures of my sister and they made incredible "mini-me". That was awesome! My sister was very, very touched and pleased when I gave it to her as wedding gift.

  6. maybe a gift card to somewhere they like to go.Cash is always good.

  7. A gift card is always appropriate, especially for people you do not know very well. Then they can go out and get whatever they need.
