Wedding gift question... need input please! ?

I am attending a wedding in October and have an option of a few things to give (all are on the registry). I would either get luggage for the honeymoon and add in a few little romantic things for them or get a package of a few kitchen things, with a few gourmet food items. The bride and I met while working at Williams-Sonoma and are both avid cooks/ bakers, so I thought the kitchen stuff would be easier, but the luggage more practical.

Which do you think?

Thanks!

  1. Well, all the items are on her registry.  Therefore, she really sees all of them as practical or items she really wants/needs.  Since you met while working a William-Sonoma and share of love of baking, I'd go with kitchen items.  It seems more personal to me.   You could even include a homemade book of your favorite recipes for her to try.  Luggage is practical, but it's also a bit boring.  All you do is carry clothing in it.  She loves to bake and she enjoys it.  So, I'd shower with items she loves.

  2. I think the kitchen stuff is more practical. While I would love it to be otherwise, my wife and I spend a lot more time cooking than traveling.

  3. I would do the kitchen items since it has a history for you both

  4. Well the luggage bc if she also bakes then she may have a lot of cookware. Cooking supplies is the #1 gift and although we put htings like that on our registry I find myself not even using all of that stuff. So her being a chef too will probably get a lot or already have a lot of that stuff.

  5. I like the luggage, because the kitchen items will be more so for her and not the two of them.  The kitchen items would be good to give her as a bridal shower gift.

  6. oh i would so go for the kitchen stuff. i would say that the majority of the stuff on ours is kitchen/cooking related.

you get way more use out of kitchen things than luggage unless you travel a lot

or she plans to kick him out a lot lol (kidding)

  7. I would think cooking stuff cause they always say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach....lol also chances are if they are leaving asap from the reception to the honeymoon then chances are they won't have time to open gifts or use the luggage. I would go with baking stuff more useful on a day to day bases and you already know that she does bake.

  8. I liked the luggage with some nice little personal items.

  9. Shes a cook right??? Odds are everyone will think of that for a gift but your idea for the luggage is great!!! I am definetly going to be adding that to my registry :)

  10. I say go with the kitchen stuff.  You might not pick out luggage that she particulary likes, then you would be dissapointed.  Stick with what you definitely know!

  11. Since both ideas are off the registry, then go with the kitchen stuff. Its just as practical and has special meanings for the both of you.

  12. You write:  The bride and I met while working at Williams-Sonoma and are both avid cooks/ bakers,

There is your answer.  Go with the kitchen stuff.
