My wedding is in 3 weeks...! :) I always wanted a flower in my hair when i got married. But when I was trying on dresses, the tyrant dress lady stuck a veil in my bun. And lets face it, I was barely dressed with a long white dress on, standing in a room CHOCK full of mirrors, beside a bridezilla wanna-be sales lady who was pushing to sell....was I to argue? lol No, seriously, when in the world would i ever get another chance to wear a veil? Can I do both (flower AND veil)? Saw some pics, but want you guys' opinions, too. If it helps, I have long hair, mid back, and it's straight as a board. Will probably want to curl it for the big day. Whatcha think?

Also, what length veil you think? I'm just not a cookie-cutter bride, ya know? Sooo not a cinderella-type. Well, don't wanna be, anyway. ;)

  1. is your wedding your hair so do whatever you want who cares what others think Do Both (i am)

  2. Why not have your florist make a crown of flowers with the veil attached to the back?  The flowers can be real or made from silk; your long straight hair would look beautiful with our without curls.  Try this:

  3. LOL, you got veil-bombed!  I see no reason why you can't wear a flower and a veil.  You could do your hair like Carrie on the s*x and the City movie, except have a single flower in the place where she has that huge blue bird thing (link with pic included-just scroll down until you see it.)  Then, maybe you could just take the veil off at your reception and have just the flower when it's time to party, since the veil would get in the way at that point anyway.  It will look really cool!

  4. I put mini roses in my hair that I got at the craft store, then I wore my veil over it.  Not sure if anyone saw the roses but that is what I wanted so I went  with it.  I also wore a small tiara.

  5. Yes, you can wear a flower and a veil. But keep it to one big or 2-3 small flowers, so you aren't overwhelmed with accessories. You want people to see you, not just your outfit.

  6. I like the fingertip length veil.

You can wear the veil low, with a low bun and still have a flower in the front. It would look beautiful

  7. since its summer go for the flowers that's what you wanted don't let some sales person working on commission tell you different

  8. Very small flowers would work at the top of the veil where it meets your hair, in white and maybe the other wedding colors

some could be placed in your hair befopre putting the veil on since you wont be wearing it all night too

for the veil length, so with something to cover the length of your hair in what style you choose.

  9. LOL! Funny story!

I'm doing both. I did not want a veil and bough some starfish broches to adorn my hair.

Then, I saw my FMIL veil from the late 60's and it was DIVINE! I tried it on and I decided to wear it for the same reasons as yours (when do I get to wear a veil again?). The veil is very short (shoulder lenght) cascading veil. I feel super chic wearing my vintage style veil.

Anyway, since I already spent $120 on the broches, I decided to wera them both. I'm securing my hair with the broches and wear them under the veil during the ceremony. For the reception, I will take off the veil so everyone can see my crystal broches on my hair.

    Good luck
