  1. hi so you are planing to get married soon, or have you picked a date when you say cheap do you have any money to pay for the license, and are you going to use a marriage celebrant or go to register office, how many people do you want to have there, can you have it in the back yard or at a friends place, ask all your friends to help and see what they have got to help you out [eg] party lights or garden arches lights for the garden, what time do you want to get married can you make your own invitations check out on the web for this.do have a wishing well so that you can receive cards, you could say on the bottom of the invite if you already,  [ have lots of thing and don't need 5 toasters or jugs, [thank you for coming to our wedding as gifts we have plenty ] but please place donation  in card so that we can put it towards something we do need, we do thank you for all your wishes and help us to enjoy our special day, you could find a lovely dress and make it very casual so no expense for dresses or suits hire, ask a friend to take you, if they have a nice car like as a wedding car or ask if there are any parks that you could use ask friends to take photos or video have finger food and drinks just wine and beer if they drink[ spirits byo] have soft drinks and water which ever way just enjoy your self and good luck  all that is important is that you get married and have your friends and family with you,  another thing you could have a suprise ask all to come to a b b q, and as to bring a plate to share, at a time say 6pm you get some one to help you to get ready, and have marriage celebrant arrive, and then get married, get your boyfriend to announce to all that you are get married now

  2. I don't think that it is how much you spend on a wedding. My husband and I spent $50.00 on ours. It was only us and our very immediate family there. We were married in a church and the $50.00 went as a donation to them. I didn't even have a real wedding dress. We have lasted 8 years now and are as happy as ever.

  3. Many parks allow weddings..Keep it small, that may help

  4. One word... (Or is it two?) Wal*Mart

now a few clarifying words... lol

Walmart has a lot of really cheap wedding related things, at some of them you can even get cakes and flowers and favors and things like that.

number one idea for keeping things cheap: invite fewer people

number two idea: skip the reception or have a standing finger snack type reception.

also: pick a location that needs no decorating, such as a pretty park, someones back yard, a gorgeous church, etc.

    good luck!

  5. Get married on a cruise ship! You can purchase a small package from the cruise line which usually ranges anywhere from 1000 to 3000 and they pay for the reception, ceremony, bridal boquet, cake, and others I'm sure I am forgetting. It may be a very small wedding, but it's pretty cheap. Good luck!

  6. well im going to have to have a cheap wedding.

my dress knee length nothing fancy prolly the most expensive idem tho.

    rings from walmart XD

im makeing the cake =] do a google search its easy

small imidiat family cerimony then a reseption with a buffet. with extended family. in the basement of my church. invitations from walmart. hehe im guessing i can do it in 800$ or less =] <3Q

  7. The dollar store has nice artifical flower, vases, greenery, bubbles, decor, and much more.  I bought several things from there, and no one will ever know.....except for you guys ofcourse

Not to mention....plates, cups, and napkins :)   Depending on how many people you are having

  8. A. Wedding Dress cheap(not real silk, doesnt matter anyway, my cousin got a great one for $100!)

    B. Close Friends and Family only!

    C. Beach wedding

    D. Wedding cake done by someone you know or friend of a friend, ya know?

    E. FLowers are so expensive, we are in the floral buisness, and go to a local farmers market, and buy flower bunches there for brides maids, your bouquet, and center pieces.

    F. Dont serve alcohol, im not going to at mine, people just get drunk and annoying anyway!

G.Have reception in a back yard, or a friends house or a nice room in a restaurant

    H. Spend a lot of money of photographer, worth it!

    I. Make sure food is good, it doesnt have to be lobster just good food cooked well

J.Honeymoon somewhere local, like you can drive too like two states away or something (beach if you live on coast!)

    K.  All the extra money put to a house payment!!

  9. Just go get the papers signed and you are ready to go. LOL Then have a party...and have fun. LOL

  10. Go to www.shellyleppertdesigns.com. they are an online formal consignment and wedding shop that has beautiful new and used wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and more at great prices, and you can rent the gowns as well as your other wedding items.

  11. Make your own wedding invitations out of construction paper, make food instead of ordering or having it catered, instead of buying an expensive dress and tuxedo rent them, have a friend to take the pictures and/or camcord the wedding. Hope some of these thing's help you.

  12. Skip the "official" ceremony and get married at the courthouse. Have a nice wedding reception after with your family and friends at a nice restaurant with a banquet room, or a hotel banquet room.

You can do Pot-Luck style or Buffet style (those are normally the cheapest options).

Skip the DJ (we are!) my fiances brother is doing our music for us. We rented a small sound system and are hooking my laptop up to the system and doing the music/announcements that way, we have tested it out and totally works.

No "wedding favors" they are a waste of money (in my opinion).

  13. Look at granges, country churches, etc. We got married in a church in the country that belonged to a grange. All total we got use of the grange and the church for less than $300, and it was a beautiful setting. The grange has a kitchen with 2 sinks, 2 stoves, and 2 fridges. We didn't have catering - we had the benefit of family help so we made most of the dishes, only buying chicken etc so it was like a big picnic/potluck.

It may sound iffy, but check bars/taverns and speak with the DJ's. Some do events on the side for the extra cash, and for fairly cheap. With all the above, the dj, using quality fake flowers as opposed to real, and getting family involved, our wedding was less than $3000.

  14. How cheap are you trying for?  My husband and I spent 2500 on our wedding and it was absolutely perfect.  Were you looking for cheaper than that?

We had ours a local restaurant that had a ballroom so we did our ceremony there too.  The restaurant worked with us a lot and told us that sit down dinners were cheaper than buffet type meals.  They also said we could do lunch portions instead of dinner portions as well.  The gave us an awesome deal too and served 11oz steaks for the price of 9oz.

We ordered decorations from Oriental Trader and got a discount because his mom works for them.  Very simple wedding but very elegant.

There's lots of places where you can have an outdoor wedding for very cheap.  I think the public beach charges only $30 for a license to hold a ceremony there.

We went to the local Goodwill store and went to thrift shops and garages sales looking for decorations for our wedding. We bought those tall flute glasses to decorate the tables and put a single gerber daisy in each.

My husband got an archway which we decorated with lights and flowers ourselves.  I think the archway was only $14.

We printed our own wedding invitations and went online to come up with some fun wording to include.  We ended up using two different ones.  One about rsvp-ing before the card turned into a pumpkin and the other was a James Bond type one saying that the card would self destruct.

I hope all of this helps!  I tried to think of as many things as I could that we did to save money... LOL!  My husband and I had so much fun planning our wedding.
