  1. You can use sequins or glitter on table tops. Small doves & wedding bells could be used for extra favors/keepsakes. Instead of rice, wrap bird seed in purple & silver bags tied with the opposite color ribbon. A unity candle.

At the registry table a friend made us a wicker gazebo trimmed in lace with our colors with mini white lights. I added angel hair at the base with a bride & groom dreamcicle. Found a place called Just Names, they put the meaning of our names on a picture that went with our theme. Amazingly the names actually fit us to a T. These were items that we were able to use in our home decor after the wedding.

Have a brainstorming party. Ask family, friends and wedding party for suggestions. Then have another gettogather to make things yourself. Start now while you have a year, then hopefully you'll be able to pamper yourself the day of the wedding and have a most enjoyable day starting the rest of your lives as one.

  2. Look to the Knot for ideas:

  3. I love the candy buffet idea.

If you want a real "wow" factor for decorations...lighting on the wall is a great way to set the mood. They can do purple shooting from the floor to the ceiling.

Do something special if you are having kids. Have a kids table with a candy centerpiece. Have coloring books, "special" toys, etc.

If you can afford it...an ice luge for martinis is nice.

    Goodluck!

  4. First off I want to say congrats! I love your colors! Those were the colors I used at my wedding 4 years ago on the 28th. =] And I also did the candles in the glass bowls, but I didn't do ribbon curls because I was afraid the ribbons would catch fire...lol. I put clear glass "rocks"in the bowls.....I don't know what they are called, but I think I got them at the dollar store in the craft area. I also did the organza bags with chocolates in them.......sounds like we may have the same taste. So, here are some suggestions you might like. I had helium balloons with long ribbons above the dance fllor, so in all of our pics dancing, you can see the ribbons all curled up over our head (looked really cute!). I also bought cute lil baskets from the dollar store, spray painted them dark purple & silver and put the organza bags in them and set them in the center of the tables with the candles. I used dark purple and silver tablecloths and used glitter and confetti of the opposite color on the tables. At our venue, I could basically do whatever I wanted, so behind the head table I hung a huge piece of dark purple satin fabric and hung silver tulle (with clear christmas lights wrapped in it) to frame the fabric. My father in-law made me a huge piece of lattice fencing that was all attached to make 3 total peices (2 folds). We spray painted that silver, wrapped the edges with dark purple and lilac tulle and used fake flowers that matched my bouquet to "vine" up the lattice. It made a great backdrop for the pics of cutting the cake.

Hope I helped, even if only a little.
