me and my partner are looking for wedding ideas on a budget of £500

any ideas people?

The biggest expense is the wedding reception venue, so if you can wed and/or have the reception in the garden or home of a friend or family memeber, that would save a bundle!  Another alternative is an outdoor site like a botanical garden; they are much less costly to rent than indoor sites.  Congrats!

Another idea is instead of registering for gifts, make a list of things you would love people to contribute to the wedding - the cake, the photography, the flowers - and allow people to choose one of these as their gift to you.  I found that people are happy to give ther talents in this way if they know that you need these things.

You could enlist friends to help make your centerpieses and thank- you gifts. Also instead of hiring a photographer put disposable camera's on the tables and let all your guest take pics. you get alot of great candid shots this way.
