  1. we bought a box set that had gold interlinking hearts and used purple ink. (wedding colors) they were really pretty, but the prettiest will be ur own. congrats and good luck.

  2. Ours had a picture of your wedding band for the background, caligrphic text that read:

Mr. (grooms name here) and Miss (Bride's name here)

Cordially invite you to share in the joy of their marriage

On (day) the (date) of (month), (year),

    At (time)

    At (Location), (City), (State)

    Reception to follow.

And, between the last two lines, we had a thistle, since it was a Scottish themed wedding.

  3. Here's a link to mine:

But Mickey and Minnie are not for everyone.  I agree with the first poster that simple is better, because everyone saves the invite till the wedding (for the address and date and time) and then tosses it, except maybe your mom.  But prettiest?  I like paper with a subtle shimmer to it, like white shimmer matted on a bold colored linen cardstock, such as the paper from www.paperandmore.com.

  4. We know someone who owns a print shop so he did our invitations. What it was an ivory invitation, with a picture of me and my husband on it, from the engagement picture. The word were in emerald green and there was a poem on the front. "This day I marry my Best Friend"...etc.

  5. My bro and SiL had the prettiest I've seen. It was a small square that opened into a rectangle (tri-fold type). on the front was a B&W photograph of a long winding dirt path in the woods and the words, "It's not where you go in life that matters, it's who you have beside you." and on the inside the photo continues with some woods and the third part had the wedding info. It was awesome and apparently not that expensive! Invitations by Dawn (www.invitationsbydawn.com) did theirs.

Mine are plain ivory paper with two silver hearts at the top. We are printing them ourselves so nothing fancy here!

  6. I work for a printing company and of all the ones  I've seen simplicity never fails to impress me. Clean lines is classic and elegant and if it get thrown out, it was cheap and it wasn't like throwing out good money.

  7. My invites have received many compliments. I've received compliments from people that work in paper companies, another one from an event coordinator and many friends.

I actually had people telling me where did I get them and two of my friends are actually going to use the same design.

My paper looks like it's sand. It's an specially textured beige paper. It has an embossed gold foil starfish and a shell on the corner. It's very simple, classic and extremely elegant. I have the matching RSVP cards and envelopes. I also selected an outer envelope that has a round over lap. The invites were sealed with a embossed gold foil shell.

I got the invitations printed professionally. I got the laser raised ink on a copper color. We got the outer envelopes addressed by a professional calligrapher with a gold pen.

My invitations are very simple, but everything was top of the line. I wanted something classic and didn't care for clutter or vellum or ribbons...

    Good luck
