So I am looking for a wedding photographer for my upcoming wedding in July 09 I went to a consultation for a photography company I seen on TV and it was thru the roof with the prices. So I started to look at other people and found one guy on myspace with awesome pics hes half the price but without the printing and albums the other place offers. So my question is am I better off with the cheaper one and me printing out the prints or going with the more expensive place. Where can you go and have the pictures developed and make them look beautiful? Please help?!?!?!

  1. Do alot of research. Set a budget. Look at their websites online. Are you impressed with their work? Ask around- who do other brides use? Ask alot of questions. Stick to your budget.

  2. Hi

One thing is make sure that they show you their previous work etc and are also happy for you to speak to those that have used them.

You are paying them, they have to earn your money.

Have your guests take photos also, sometimes the best shots are taken then.

    Cya

    :)

  3. I think getting them developed is always going to be the most expensive part - but remember you get what you pay for.  So if you don't mind having lower quality pics, then you can print them yourself.  But those printed professionally are always so nice.  Don't forget to make sure that the photographer you hire is the one who is actually going to show up.  I hired one, and he sent his assistant!  She did not as good a  job for us and I was disappointed.

  4. If you saw them on TV they're going to be quite expensive. There's probably a middle ground you can find that won't be as expensive but will still be professional quality.

The most important thing (after determining that you can afford the photographer) is to figure out if they will disrupt the wedding. I was at a wedding where the photographer interrupted the wedding twice (the wedding, not the reception) to have the couple pose. So be warned.

  5. I have a wedding photography studio so here are a few professional pointers:

    1. Look for a photographer that you get along with.  You need to feel comfortable with them as they will be with you the whole day on your special day.

    2. You need to make sure you like their style of photography. Look through wedding magazines and see whether you like a particular style, black and white, colour etc.

    3. Your budget.  Most photographers understand that there is a lot of outlay when planning a wedding, so most will offer packages that includes albums and a budget option without the album.  The most important thing is that you get the best photos so that you are happy as its your only chance at it. If money is tight go for the budget option and then after the wedding you might have a bit of money to get the album (as most guests will give you money at the reception).

I seriously recommed that you invest in photos as its the one thing that you will look at in the future.  You can spend a fortune on the reception and people will say that the food was cold, you know whinge.  But the photos are there to last a life time, its a priceless investment.
