  1. A wedding planner would be much easier and would take a lot of stress out of things, good luck (: x

  2. If you need a wedding planning guide that you can download to keep track of everything, you can go to http://www.advancedvideo.uni.cc/ and go to the wedding packages page, where you can download a FREE wedding planning guide.

  3. honestly, if you have the luxury of time, its a great idea to plan your wedding yourselves, especially for the women as we all know that they plan their wedding since childhood =0), if time is not on your side, then i advice that you seek a professional wedding planner. trust me, when the wedding is over, you will find yourself saying, "You know what, maybe we could've done better?" this is because everybody wants a perfect wedding. first and most important of all, the budget! how much is your working budget for your special wedding? this is very important as you have to squeeze everything you need for the wedding with your working budget as everything will be equally important. what i did was i ranked the the components that i will need for the wedding as follows.

    1. photo/video - this is the most important component in wedding planning as you may by all means cut cost on everything else but not on your wedding photographer & videographer. no matter how many millions you spend on your wedding, its not worth it if you don't have a well collated, crafted photo album or a well directed video to reminisce it over and over again.

    2. number of guests - its a good idea to draft a list of guests that you want to invite just to give you an idea on how much space that you will need for your wedding ceremony and reception and of course, how much stomach that you will need to feed. when i got married, my wife and i planned for a small wedding only with a maximum of 50 guests only, when we finalized the list, we had 150 in our list! anyways, as they say, the more the marrier [its up to you how you wedding-crash proof your wedding =0)]

    3. food - now that you have an idea of how many guest you will invite, you can at least weigh how much to spend with the food that you will serve.

    4. location - be it an old historic church, a fantastic garden, or a beatiful beach front, you have to know how much you spend on location alone that can accomodate your guests and not eat half of your budget. its a good idea to get a location that can both accomodate the ceremony and reception to save on location costs. its kinda hitting 2 birds with one stone.

    5. wardrobe - of course you don't want to look like a s*****k on your wedding day but it doesn't mean that you have to spend a fortune for a dress or a suit that i'm sure you will be wearing once in your life only. even if you re-marry, i'm sure you will not wear the same wardrobe again =0)

    6. honeymoon - at this stage, just imagine that you had a very stressful but happy and successful ceremony and you're offically hooked so its just fair to treat yourselves on a relaxing getaway. i advice an isolated place where nature is involved so you can have the time for yourselves alone with no distractions. just focus on each other.

    7. flowers, ceremony & reception props and give aways - this are last in my list but certainly not the least as these are equally essential to make your wedding memorable. now this is where a wedding planner can be handy because like me, i don't have any idea how to decorate.

    happy wedding planning!

  4. You must use one.

  5. I have never been able to see the need for wedding planners.

I organised our formal, military wedding with the help of our mothers and friends. Organising a wedding is basically just choosing! unless you are having a DIY wedding where the reception is concerned. I suppose a wedding planner could suggest venues but we had fun viewing the venues in our area and deciding our own. Then you choose the menu which your venue Events Manager guides you through. I wouldn't WANT anyone else deciding on the flowers or the decor or the music etc. so if you are decisive, have a reasonable budget, and good taste...don't waste your money!

  6. if u can afford it have a planner

  7. If you can afford a wedding planner, feel free to use one. I'm sure it is helpful. But you are also handing over (at least) $1000. If you have helpful family and friends, and are good at planning yourself, it can absolutely be done. There are plenty of websites that can help you plan, like the following...

    http://www.mydreamwedding.ca

    http://www.weddingwire.com

    http://www.theknot.com

    http://www.partypop.com

    Goodluck with whatever you decide!
