Im chief bridesmaid to my best friend, who is geting married in Sept, Every one who is attending the wedding have been asked to not buy presents but get gift vouchers for there honeymoon (presents are welcome but they prefer to have either money to spend on honey moon or vouchers to go towards buying the honeymoon....but this was put across in a nice way). I dont really want to put money in an envelop for a present as i think its very in-personal and being her bestfriend i want to get her and her hubby a personal present. They love their jewellery and i thought about getting them both his & her bracelets (like an identity bracelet) and have something engraved on it but what? that is the big question, i would like to have the date of the wedding on it 13.09.08. and only a few words as her bracelet will be smaller and im limited for space.....if you think this presents abit naf! please let me know and offer other suggestions and i dont want to be court out with some one else buying the same thing. Thank you in advance. Oh i do have a budget of around £50-60 pounds (less if possible as i dont earn a lot of money, which they are aware of as they earn twice as much as me!)

  1. I would give them what they asked nicely for. Money or a voucher. You could dress it up a bit by wrapping it. Or  choose a nice card to put it in.

I would not do the jewelry thing, especially if you do not really know if they will even like the bracelets. Sorry to say, but my opinion is that is sorta high school.

  2. what about their names and forever?

take their best wedding pictures, print them and make an album out of it and give them that with little quotes on the sideline of the albums pages (thats really sweet)

  3. date spelled out September 13th, 2008

  4. I would go with a scrapbook album. You could start when you met and go until their wedding day. Check out www.mwdkrafts.ecrater.com

    Good Luck

  5. You seem to want a personalized gift.  What about a signature platter?  My niece had one at her wedding last month and I thought it was a great idea.  I thought it would make a nice keepsake that would remind them of their special day.  You could give it to her ahead of time or at her rehearsal dinner so she could use it at the wedding.

I found a few different styles on ebay or just do a search under "signature platters".   You should check to see if they ship overseas.  Or, maybe you can find them at your local store.

  6. how about MR and Mrs T - I pity the fool!!

  7. I'm going to buck the trend here and suggest that engraved jewellery is more of a thing that the couple would get for each other as something from them to remember their day rather than a bridesmaid get it for them even if jewellery is their thing if you know what i mean.

Maybe if you know where they want to go/stay on their honeymoon you could organise a hamper for their hotel or a tour they would like to go on.

Another idea is to get them a voucher for a massage when they return from their honeymoon as one last thing to relax and enjoy as a couple before returning to work etc.

  8. aww im getting married on this day <3 how awsome! I think something like this would work..

  9. I think you should give the wedding couple something memorable from the heart. Custom handmade figurine is a unique gift for everyone!

I would highly recommend you visit http://aweddinggiftidea.com

Their professional artists will make a wonderful figurine of them. I sent them my favorite pictures of my sister and they made incredible "mini-me". That was awesome! My sister was very, very touched and pleased when I gave it to her as wedding gift.
