Question:

Wedding problems...?

So I have a sister who is getting married and she bought all her bridesmaids dresses herself (140 bucks each) so they wouldn't have to pay for it and she has barely even asked any of them for their help for anything, wanting to not be too demanding like the typical bride and all she is asking now is for them to purchase the same shoes, which is $70. All but two have purchased them and they have literally put it off for so long that she doesn't know what to do. Im her maid of honor and have asked them many times and they either complain about the price (and yet go shopping for other things) or just tell me they will do it and never do. How can I make them see reason in a nice way (or not nice way!) still because Im almost ready just to buy it for them so they have it! They are even not wanting to pay for minor alterations to their dress (that would cost minimum 25-30 dollars). By tradition they are supposed to pay for their own everything!

  1. I didn't pay for any of my bridesmaids dresses, these days tradition isn't always the way to go. They are supposed to be there for your sister and help in any way possible and make things easier on them. If she paid for all 7 dresses and the wedding, the very LEAST they can do is pay for a pair of shoes, which they get to keep anyways and especially if they are cute they can re-use it. That's ridiculous that they shop after they say they cannot afford it. I paid for my bridesmaids shoes but that was because they paid for their own dresses! Tell them as the maid of honor that it's either the shoes or the dress and to stop being stubborn and maybe even make them see the light by telling them it will be their wedding present to her! Good luck.

  2. I wouldnt pay seventy bucks for a pair of shoes that someone picked out. I myself just bought all 3 bridesmaids dresses, their matching shoes, matching necklaces, earing, and gift certificates to get their nails done the day before the wedding. Maybe she needs to pick out cheaper shoes taht everyone can afford.
