I can't believe they sell 4 inch heeled bridal shoes! I'd cry in those!!!

What are you wearing for your wedding or what did you wear? Were you comfortable?

Any good brands to look for? I have wide feet!

Thanks!

  1. I lived in 5 inch heels for 15 years! Believe me, with practice, you never want to wear flats.

I haven't worn heels on a regular basis for a year or so, but I'm wearing 3" Manolo Blanik "ballet slippers" in ivory silk with silk/leather ribbon ties and gold leather accents. I've had them for years, worn them a few times, and they're always comfortable. I don't see why your wedding shoes should be brand new. New isn't broken in, and that can be painful!

  2. I like high heeled shoes; 4 inches is not that high unless you never wear heels. My friend wore a leather, well made, high heeled bridal shoe. Her feet were fine.

  3. stripper shoes, baby! my wedding dress was a short 1960's style little number, and my legs aren't very long, so i went for a clear shoe that would elongate my legs.

i bought them in a shoe store inside the Tropicana (i believe) hotel in Las Vegas. they have very high quality beautiful shoes that are triple padded (the owners wife used to be a showgirl :) .

they looked alot like these except a little higher, and insted of being white on the inside they were lined with beige suede- oooooooohhhh so comfy and only about sixty bucks.

i wear them all the time!

  4. I wore 3-1/2" wedge heels with criss-cross straps across the toes and a strap around the ankle.

They were the most comfortable shoes ever!

I got them for a steal on bridalpeople.com!

  5. I wore ballet flats--no one sees your shoes if you're wearing a floor length gown, and I've seen more brides wanting to collapse by the end of the night because their feet hurt.  Do yourself a favor, wear shoes that are comfortable!!!

Another thing--I work in a bridal salon, and we sell "bridal" shoes--and I rarely sell them to my brides.  I send my brides to Nordstroms or to DSW or to Payless.  Nordies has a great selection of shoes, a very wide range of sizes, and most of my brides wind up finding a shoe there they love, and will be able to walk in all day.

    Good luck shoe shopping!!!

  6. here's what i wore

it had a pretty small heel, so it was comfortable. they also came in wide.

  7. i wore gold lace ballet style slippers they were awesome for my pregger behind!

  8. In looking for wedding shoes I will warn you that most websites that sell bridal shoes are overcharging you.  Your best bet to find a deal is to shop around department stores and target's website.  Especially this time of year lots of sandals and strappy heals are on sale because they are out of season.

I am wearing 3 3/4 inch heals since the groom is almost a foot taller then me and I wear heals every day of my life!

  9. You should wear ballet slippers. They make your feet look small, you don't have to deal with a heel, and I think they are really pretty. If you want, here are some links to look at some.

  10. I wore 4 inch heels for the ceremony and had nice slippers for the reception (especially in the receiving line) My dress was long so no one could see my feet standing there anyway...

I changed back into my heels for our dance as my feet became visible again on the dance floor...

I changed into my slippers again during dinner as my feet were under the table behind the table cloth again...

  11. Most 1-3" bridal shoes are made with comfort in mind, knowing they will be worn for a great length of time, without being properly broken in.  Buy your shoes at least 2 months in advance and bring gel inserts with you when you go shopping.  Then wear the shoes around at home to break them in.   A pair of ballet style slippers can always be put on later in the evening for dancing.  Another tip is to buy/save the 'pads' from a push up bra!  They fit perfectly around the back of your heel to prevent blistering!

You would not believe the amount of great wedding pictures rendered unusable because otherwise beautiful brides do not give enough thought to their shoe choice, believing 'they won't show'.   If your sitting eating...your shoes show, when your coming down the aisle, they peek out. You want that picture where your groom scoops you into his arms....the last thing you want is "What was I thinking"

That old saying "you can tell the class of a person by their shoes" never makes more sense than a brides footwear choice on her wedding day!

  12. since im short at the church and for pictures i wore the highest heel i could find. and at the reception i went barefoot. the way i always do

  13. believe it or not i wore flip flops for my wedding. my husband and i are the same height when im not in heels and i didnt want to tower over him at our wedding. i wore those flip flops for the ceremony (you cant see the shoes anyways) and i was the most comfortable girl in the place. now when i changed into my other outfit for the reception i changed shoes and put on some of them ballet slippers. still comfortable as ever.

  14. I am having a chapel length train however I am only 5' so I will be wearing at least 3" platform peepp toe pumps for the ceremony and pictures. Then I have a different dress for the reception and will be wearing cute white bridal flipflops. And they are what I will wear for the 5 hours of reception and cocktail hour

  15. I am tall (5'11) and have big feet (size 11).  Shoes have always been a horrible ordeal for me.  I wear flip flops about 96% of the time so am going to be wearing flip flops for my wedding!!!  $2.50 at Old Navy.  Cheap and comfortable, what could be better?  :-)

  16. I dont know if you have a DSW around but they have the cutest most comfortable and affordable shoes, i got mine from there and i loved them ,they were about 3 inches but very confie!
