the brides parents are supposed to pay for most of the wedding, and mine Suck!

how do i thank my parents in my wedding speech, they didn't pay for anything and didn't help with anything,

i dont wanna make myself look bad, but then again i dont wanna say anything that i dont mean

  1. Just say everyone that is there because they are important and loved by you and your "husband" and you want to thank everyone for their support, love and for joining you on your special day.  


  2. I think it depends on what kind of parents they were to you. Were they kind, considerate, affectionate, good providers, understanding? Those are the things to thank them for not for their monetary involvement in your wedding. I guess it would suck if they are rolling in money and refusing to help you. However, keep in mind, it could be completely the opposite. Like in my case, my parents were completely broke and although they paid for it, the paid for it with credit and it took them two years to pay it off. Big kick in the nuts is that it was only $3k. I'd look further than monetary contribution before writing the speech.
