I was weed eating the yard of really tall grass and it keep cutting off the weed eater because it would rap around the back of the weed eater head and clog it up...i would just clean it and keep going but now when I go to give it gas the weed eater is riving high but the head doesn't move anymore....it looks like some kind of plastic piece came out of the back...is there something there to hold the head into place on the shaft??

  1. Aside from the problem with your weed eater, I find a rotary mower is often a better choice for an area of overgrown vegetation, it's more robust against getting clogged up.

  2. Yes, There is a cable running the length of the shaft that turns the head. Sounds like you need a new cable. Check out The Small Engine shop down the road.

  3. Grass probably either got up into or melted the bearing seal if there is any of the plastic sticking out it may be stopping it from turning. You might be able to pull it out and get it going for a while.PROBABLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEAD BEARING ASSEMBLY, USUALLY ONLY HELD ON WITH ONE s***w GOING INTO SHAFT.
