Question:

Weedwacker pull cord rewind question???

I am helping my friend fix the slipping problem in the pull chord of his Homelite weedwacker.

When you pull to start it, sometimes it slips preventing the engine to turn over to start it.

I took it apart and noticed the notches on the plastic pull cord rewind looked worn, probably preventing the "teeth" attached to the flywheel from getting a good grip on the rewind.

Where can I buy a replacement rewind for this thing??

Thanks

  1. try ebay

  2. go to home depot. They have lots of weedwhacker stuff. ebay works too.

  3. you should be able to get one at home depot or a local hardware store

  4. The manufacterer of the product is usually the only place that you can buy a replacement from. E.G if it is a makita weedwacker you would have to get one delivered from their weedwacker as there are too many makes of such things for a normal store to be able to provide

  5. I doubt home depot would carry them , stores like that would rather you buy another one thanrepair. You can try going to a place that simply services small engines like lawn mowers ect they should be able to have a part for it.GL
