Question:

Week 1 Fantasy Football RB Suggestions?

In my 2008 fantasy league I need to start 3 running backs. I am playing Jamal Lewis, Laurence Maroney, and I need to choose a third between Selvin Young and Larry Johnson.

I know Larry Johnson is rated better than Selvin Young, but Johnson has been shakey in the past year and Young looks to be promising. Denver's matchup is much more favorable against Oakland, whereas Kansas City plays New England.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

  1. It is a good problem to have.  I think I would also consider putting Maroney on the bench and playing the others.  The Pats running gae was up and down last year.  But I am playing Young too.

  2. I'd go with Larry Johnson over Selvin Young. Yes LJ has been shaky but Young hasn't really proven anything in the NFL. Oakland had one of the best pass defenses last year and have improved their run d. The patriots have a good defense but their lbs are old and LJ will have fresh legs.

  3. Larry Johnson was hurt a bit last year, but is still one of the most dominant running backs in the league.  He is well worth a first round pick, and there is no reason to start any of the other RB's you mentioned ahead of him.  If anything, don't start Maroney.  He is not in a system that focuses on the run with Brady-ball going on.  He hasn't broken 1000 yards or gotten more than 6 TDs in the last two years.

  4. I would go with LJ, He will be a safe pick

  5. adrian peterson

  6. wow first of all you need to trade and get a better RB
