I'm having a get together at my home with a co-worker, her spouse and 5 kids. The kids ages range from 7-15. What are some fun things for these kids to so. We live in the country and have a big front yard but I have no x-box or anything electronic for them to play with. I'm serving burgers, hot dogs and pizza. What can I buy or do to entertain them?

  1. Slip & Slide ...  Volleyball, croquet, badmitton, football, baseball ...  That's a difficult combination of ages to plan activities for:)  If the younger kids are boys, they can hunt for bugs:)  .....  bubble blowers & machines ... Just wander through the summer toy aisle at Walmart and see what looks good to you:)

  2. do traditional stuff board games treasure hunt play music get them to help with food prep they prob enjoy being involved get old sleeping bags have like a sports day play lots of outdoor games if wet do a quiz play board games cards get them to tell stories etc go back to being a child think wat fun you used to ave without computers etc good luck

  3. Maybe you cuold suggest they play football, or some kinda sport like that.  Or maybe talk it over with their parents and ask what their kids like to do.  If all else fails, tell them to play hide-and-seek.  Or just use their imagination!  Darn kids these dayz...

  4. Kids play to many video games anyway.  You can pick up a volley ball or a soccer ball or something like that.  If you don't want to spend the money, they can play it.  Whatever the case, it is nice enough where they can burn off some energy out side for a wile

  5. water ballons, house shoes, valley ball net that comes with 5 differnt games all in 1 from wal-mart for about 15 bucks easy to put up and easy to take down

  6. if the weather is nice and you're cooking out, consider a corn-hole game (bean bag toss), horseshoes, get some kick balls, etc.  these are all fairly inexpensive to buy!

    Get them outside!!

    Have fun!

  7. I would say supply them with many board games, a DVD player with plenty of DVDs a computer  and a TV. the younger kids might end up playing hide and seek or something. I loved hide and seek even as a teenager.

  8. It's so sad that kids need electronics to entertain them!

Get some board games and a pack of cards.

There are also a lot of outdoor games that kids can play- get a bunch of balls and they can play football or even just throw the balls to each other.  You can play some music outside and play musical chairs or pass the parcel.

You could also have a treasure hunt or arrange a mini obstacle course for them using chairs and pillows and stuff.  Give them instructions like they have to climb over the pillows and crawl under the chairs, etc.

Another nice thing for kids is to serve ice cream sundaes for dessert- but you let them put together there own sundae- have ice cream and jelly and chocolate and nuts and they can go wild.

    Good luck!

  9. take kids to cinema. they'll love watching that new cartoon movei comming out
