Question:

Weekend retreat sleep with toddler?

My hubby and I are going on a weekend retreat with all of the officers in his company. We're taking our 16 month old with us (everyone's taking their kids) and will be sharing a cabin with one or two other families. Our son is really picky about where he sleeps and will only sleep in his crib or in the car normally, and in bed with us on occasion.

I can't decide if we should take his pack'n'play. We're sure that the only way we'll be able to get him to sleep in it is if we have him fall asleep with us first then move him. Should we take it, or just have him sleep in bed with us for the weekend?

Any other tips or advice that you think I'll benefit from?

  1. Take the pack-n-play.

  2. I would defiantly take the packn'play.  My son is the same way and we did not take it on a weekend trip and we regretted it the whole time.  Also if he has a favorite blanket or toy make sure you bring that also.

  3. Try taking the pack'n'play and see if he might sleep in it... you might be surprised. If its only for the weekend I can't see the harm in him sleeping with you... although you might not get a lot of sleep.

  4. I would take the pack n play and then leave it in the car.  That way if you don't need it no big deal but if you do decide that you want to use it then you have it.  I know that when my hubby and I went to a friends cabin there was a full size bed and a bunk bed.  There would have been no way that me, my hubby, and our son would fit in the full size bed and I didn't want our son in the bunk bed so I slept with him in the full size bed and my hubby slept in the bunk bed.
