Weekly roundup: WWE SmackDown
This week’s SmackDown was no short of thrilled and intensified action as members from Team SmackDown were chosen for Bragging Rights after a blitzed screening and then The Big Red Monster challenged his brother, The Undertaker to a buried alive match at
Bragging Rights.
As the show kicked off, General Manager SmackDown, Teddy Long appeared to the crowd and said that matches to determine representatives for Team SmackDown would be held that night and so did they.  The high flying Rey Mysterio was up for a fight with Dashing
Cody Rhodes.  Both men exchanged a few blows earlier with Rhodes going for an early pin to which the little master kicked out. Rhodes then went for Mysterio’s knee and countered into back-to-back supplexes. He tried to connect Alabama Slam but Rey abruptly
got out of the way by delivering a sharp 619 in no time and gaining the spot at Bragging Rights.
Jack Swagger met MVP in the second match of night in a quest to register a spot for Team SmackDown at Bragging Rights. Swagger got the upper hand early in the match when he used legendary Kurt Angle’s Ankle Lock, making MVP roar in agony, following a tap
out and securing the victory.
In the meanwhile The Undertaker was shown roaming in rage at the roof of arena. Back in the ring Ricardo Rodriguez was standing who introduced his master Alberto Del Rio to the ring for his qualifying match against Chris Master. It took Del Rio no time to
get Masters in an armlock who could not break it and tapped out soon. Big Show who was standing on the ring’s side stepped in to congratulate Rio over his inclusion to Team SmackDown, but Rio paid no heed to the captain and fled away without shaking his hand.
This act of disrespect might prove harsh for the Mexican in his first big match since his arrival to WWE.
In a non-title match, Edge defeated the Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler, giving him a brutal spear in his ribs region and delivering a ruthless aggression to Vickie Guerrero and Kaitlyn who were watching the match backstage.  Nonetheless, Edge is
now a representative of Team SmackDown at Bragging Rights.
The World’s Largest Athlete, The Big Show was interviewed by Micheal Cole where he was asked of turning his back at last year’s Bragging Rights, but Show said that his blood was blue and he was already up for SmackDown. The Giant was interrupted by young
Kaval who wanted to represent SmackDown at Bragging Rights. As a captain, Show told Kaval that if he could stand in the ring for 5 minutes against him, he was in the side. Amazingly for Kaval, it happened. But the night ended in rather a sorry state for him
when he lost his match and place against Tyler Reks.
In the final qualifying match of the night for Bragging Rights, Kofi Kingston cravenly earned a spot by nailing one half of WWE Tag Team Champion Drew McIntyre with Trouble in Paradise.
The Phenom was again shown standing at the roof top of arena, when Paul Bearer, the father of The Undertaker and Kane challenged him to a one-on-one fight at the Bragging Rights with Kane, where the loser gets buried alive. WWE Champion Kane kept on emphasizing
that he was stronger and more dominant of the two brothers and those supporting Undertaker were nothing but just mere cowards.  As Kane continued dis-esteeming his brother by being of the view that Undertaker’s hope would be buried alive and he would not be
able to compete ever again, all of a sudden The Deadman appeared and came down the ring. He straightaway went for the kill to Kane, who battled back but Undertaker proved to be a mightier superstar by nailing the WWE Champion down the mat and making the fire
ignite from the ring posts, sending a message to Kane that he was up for the said challenge.
