Weevils? How do I get rid of them

I keep finding what seems to be pantry weevil beetle, but they're in my bedroom. I don't know what they are after in my room, there's no food but they are there and I don't know how to get rid of them. I've only seen them once outside of my room, in the dining room upstairs. I don't know where they breed or anything. I read somewhere that they may live in cat food, could this be where they come from? My cats dish is right outside my room... I dont know. Could someone help me get rid of them please!

  1. I can guess what kind of weevil it is without at least a picture,  But you already have a possible answer.  Move the food dish away form your room and see what happens.  The other possibility is to teach you cat to eat its food when you put it out, and put the bowl away after each meal.  You don't want to be spraying pesticides around the cat.

  2. I'm not sure if this works but I heard this trick for flour (weevils like that too).  Place suspected item in the freezer and the weevils will crawl to the surface and die.  The next step was to scoop out the dead weevils from the top of the item and keep item stored in an airtight container.  Good luck!
