The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 on Wednesday, and claims he was worthy of an inclusion considering his form this season
Borussia Dortmund star goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Weidenfeller-c31655 has revealed his disappointment at being left out of the Germany squad that will take on Netherlands in a friendly fixture. The 32-year-old cannot believe why he is being constantly
overlooked, despite helping his side win a domestic double last season.
The veteran custodian fails to understand why head coach Joachim Low does not trust him to select him for the team squad. He stated that he fully deserves at least a place in the side after being rock solid for the Black Yellows.
Germany are due to play fierce rivals Netherlands on Wednesday.
The Dutch side will be looking to get their revenge in Amsterdam, following their loss at the hands of Die Mannschaft in the 2012 European Championships. However, the shot-stopper who has helped his side win three titles in the
last couple of years ahead of Bayern Munich, wants to know the reason behind this decision.
The glovesman commented after the BVB beat Augsburg 3-1 over the weekend. He further added that he has done enough to earn a call-up, and feels his form does not matter to the team trainer.
"I have three trophies in the last two years. I just think that my performances speak for itself, both internationally and for my club. It is like performances on the pitch do not matter anymore, I will not be picked no matter
how well I play," the former Germany Under-21 international was quoted as saying in an interview.
"I am pleased for Rene. I am pleased that he is going, but it still surprises me that I have never had the call," the former Sportfreunde Eisbachtal and FC Kaiserslautern youth academy player finally concluded.
Nevertheless, Weidenfeller wished Hamburg star Rene Adler the best on returning to the national fold, after impressing since the start of the current season. He said Adler has done really well following his long lay-off.
