Weight Lifting For Teenagers?

Im 14 and 5'8. I want to be 6'2 or 6'3 by the end of high school. Will weight lifting now stunt my growth?

  1. yes it will. it happened to my cousin, who would have been at least five inches taller, if he didn't start lifting as early as he did.

    i would wait a while. just drink plenty of milk, and eat a ton of dairy products- that'll help you out. besides, your bones really start growing during junior and senior year of highschool. and they won't stop growing until you're at least 25.


  2. no otherwise they wouldn't have teens lift for sports. At my high school if you go out for a sport you have to weight lift during the summer.

  3. if u dont max out and go crazy, it shouldnt stunt your growth.

  6. no if anything it might help u get taller faster, but dont count on it cuz if ur parents arent very tall its unlikely that u will become tall
