Weight Lifting and soreness?

I just started lifting weights again and I am pretty sore. Should I wait for the soreness to take off and then lift weights, or can I lift weights.

Is their a faster way for the soreness to takeoff?

  1. It depends on what the soreness feels like. If it is a burning sensation, then that means that your muscles are working harder than before. If it is a really sharp pain, then you might have pulled something.

  2. Continue to lift weights everyday regardless of the soreness. After a while you will only feel tight right after a work out and never sore. I experiance this every time I quit working out and get back into it.

  3. the recommended weight lifting is every other day unless you are a bodybuilder of extreme athlete

  4. You have to keep lifting weights, the soreness is there because your body is adjusting to you lifting weights. Keep lifting if you want to improve or get stronger.

  5. soak in a warm bath of epsom salt to draw toxins from the body and sedate the nervous system. it works!

  6. Your best bet would be to eat protein before and after a workout so the muscles rebuid faster. Also you should take a day break after every workout it helps muscles  rebuild.

  7. It'll depend on the level of soreness.  If it's a little sore, then it's fine to work that same muscle group after 48 hours. Muscles don't build when they lift, they build when they rest after they lift, and they need 48 hours to do so.

If you're really super sore, then you should wait until it's gone, and lift a little less/lighter next time.  Approach weight lifting gradually.

  8. You can work out, but you may want to use lighter weights for a few days until you can work out the lactic acid in your muscles!  Lactic acid builds up and by working out again, you break that down and it is released out of your muscles!

  9. Stretch every hour.

Depends what group you are lifting for. If you did chest Monday and you are still sore on Friday, it should be fine. However if you did it yesterday and you want to do it again today, BAD idea.
