I had a baby to be exact 6 weeks from today,

Yesterday I started walking 30 minutes in the morning,

Today 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes again after lunch.

I step on the scale today and I weigh 170lbs Im 5'8, and my normal weight is 130LBS. Does anyone know how long it will take me to lose this weight? this is my second baby, I am breastfeeding, any advice or experience from one mom to another.?

Thanks all...

  1. Give yourself time.  I've heard that the weight is harder to lose the second time around.  Keep breast feeding, exercise without pushing yourself too hard, and  maintain a healthy, balanced diet.  If you lost 2 pounds per week, it would take you about 5 months.  Aim for losing no more than 2 pounds per week, especially considering you're breast feeding.

There are some great parent - child exercise classes that you might enjoy.  Itsy Bitsy Yoga is a really fun one that you can start taking yoru baby to now.  There's also a sort of baby jogger boot camp (I can't remember the exact name of it) that looks great.  Try to see if they are available in your area.  If not, just get out and walk around the neighborhood when you can.  Good luck.

  2. It will take probably about 6 months, if you're trying to lose 40 pounds.  Also, after having a baby your body changes and you will probably not be able to get down to what you were before the baby.

  3. I am having a hard time getting back into shape after my 2nd baby :( I have lost most of the weight but i have this big flap of gut that I can't get rid of and my thighs are super fat compared to the me "before" kids...

  4. After u have the baby u might just need to exersice some and u should be fine. Just do what u did to lose the weight last time

  5. I've been having a hard time loosing weight after my second baby, too.  My baby is almost 8 months, I'm still breastfeeding, and I still have about 15 pounds to loose until I get to my pre-preg weight.  I know I haven't been active enough.  I bet the walking will help you loose weight, and I'd keep up the breastfeeding.

  6. Well i used to weigh 110 and i am 5'0 then i got pregnant with my daughter and weighed 145 after about 1 1/2 months i went to 100 then back to 115 what i did was eat salad nothing but salad and very little ranch... I had grilled chicken on top but nothing else. What also helped alot was to put a girdle on all day like when i wake up i put it on then 2 hours before i went to bed i would take it off. ut the girdle has to be soooooo tight that you feel like over welmed that got my body back to normal and sometimes i would have slim fast in the morning. Trust me you will go back as long as its in your mind and you keep it in your mind that you can do it!!!   :)

  7. It all depends

  8. Congrats on the baby first of all. There is no insta cure for losing baby fat, just keep exercising at least 4 times a week. You gotta give your body a rest sometimes. Lay off the ice cream and apple fritters.

  9. well first of all hunny you JUST had a baby 6 weeks ago. be patient  it took 9 months to gain the weight and it will take around the same time to get it off. what you should do is get a workout regime do some weight lifting 4 times a week then cardio 3 times a week OR if you really want to lose fat do cardio firs tthing in the morning then do weight lifting in the afternoon. ALSO protein after each workout session is a plus to burn fat and gain muscle. make sure to get about 20 grams of protein each mealtime. what really worked for me is the p90x program i lost all my babyweight from my second pregnancy plus 10 extra lbs from my first pregnancy i was excited with the results.

since this is your second child it may take a lil longe for your body to bounce back to its shape so be patient eat right exercise and the weight will come off.
