Weight effect on snowboard performance???

i'm shopping for a new snowboard. i've ridden a 154 for 12 yrs. i want to improve in the park and want to keep it at about a 154 cm board. i found a board i really like, but it's a girls board - i've been riding a guys board. i'm pretty tall for a girl, and i'm about 10 lbs over the recommended weight for the board i'm looking at.... just wondering what effect will this have on the performance of the board. i want to stay with a shorter board, but if it's gonna make it perform crappy, i'll go with a guy's board...

  1. the lighter the board the better, there are many great girl boards out there check out transworldsnow.com but depending on how tall you are i don't know what size you should get but the bottom of your chin to the ground is your best bet for park. the shorter the board the easier it will be for you to spin but if you are hittin big jumps you'll want a little more length for stability while haulin a** towards them. make sure you round off your edges if you are hitting rails it flows through kinks way better when you are either frontside or backside.
