Weight gain in a 4 week old

my son was 6 bs 15 when he was born 6lbs 9 when we left the hosptal he now is 7lbs 13 is this a slow gain he has reflux thats why i am asking

  1. I think the key here is that your son is gaining weight--so that is great news, I personally think he sounds fine--if you are feeding him regularly and he is having enough p**p and pee diapers and continues to gain, keep up what you are doing, if he looses weight that would not be good--you and baby are fine!!!


  2. That's really good.  My Pediatrician said they should gain 1/2 ounce a day, I have also read 2/3 ounce.  My 4 week old lost 11 ounces in the hospital and I'm concerned she's not gaining much.  

  3. as long as its a steady gain then you should be ok. make sure the doctor is monitoring it carefully.

  4. All kids are different, but that seems about right. I wouldn't be worried unless your doc is worried. You should have a 1mo. appointment in the next week or two, so you'll know for sure, then.
