I feel like I'm gaining too much weight. I am 18 weeks and have packed on 17 pounds already. Is that too much?

  1. Sounds like we are in the same boat. I'm 18 weeks and have put on close to 20 pounds. And of course its all gone to my hips! They right down my weight at every doctor's visit and they haven't mentioned it so I'm assuming its ok. Try not to let it get you down. I was feeling very unattractive last week so I went out over the weekend to a maternity store and got some really cute tops and invested in some new make-up and that has really helped me out a lot. Don't worry about it. We'll be able to lose it once our babies are here!

  2. Everyone is different, just make sure you are eating healthy.  I gained 3 1/2 pounds total at my 20 week apt.  Everyone kept saying how small I was.  From 20-24 weeks I gained 6 1/2 pounds just in four weeks and did nothing different.  So at 24 weeks I can 10 pounds total.  But now the weight I can feel is going on faster since my baby is growing faster.

As long as your doctor has no concerns, don't sweat it!

  3. not at all, just be happy your gaining weight it is really for the baby anyways and most of it comes off after baby is born.

  4. girl as long as you feel good...if not than just try your best just to eat a lil healthier, plenty water and walk at least 3x a week for 30 min. or so. everyone is different and believe me...if 20 girls in a room eat 10 burgers different outcomes would occur. just enjoy your pregnancy girl! Good Luck with everything

  5. i am 13 and have gain 7lbs. it does get frustrating..

  6. I had gained that much by then too.  I wound up gaining 55 pounds total.  I lost 60 after wards, so I weighed less than I did before.

  7. depends on your pre pregnancy weight...if you were underweight then no...just be careful i gained 55 pounds with my first pregnancy and it is very hard to lose!!! this time i am actually losing weight :-/ not sure how i feel about that either...but anyway..ya and i think it also has to do with how much of your calories the baby is using up...good luck and congrats!!!! =)
