  1. Drink lots of water... go at it for 4 days of the week...if not 5... and about 2 - 3 hours a day. After 3 - 4 weeks... you will be stronger... and find that you can lift alot more than before.    Your supposed to lift 5 times a week... but since you only want to do it 3 - 4... then i recomend adding the time that your actually lifting.

  2. ok..once more im answering a similar qestiuon in the same way, im going to share my workout routine with you. dumbbells are great but you need to do more than dumbbell exercises to see decent results.

    15 lateral raises (with dumbbells/weights)

    15 press-ups

    15 sit-ups

    30 squats(with dumbbells/weights on shoulder)

    15 press-ups

    15 sit-ups

    30 squats(with dumbbells/weights on shoulder)

    15 bicep curls (with dumbbells/weights)

    15 forearm curls (with dumbbells/weights)

this will build other muscle apart from you arms. this builds up shoulder, chest, arm, leg and core muscles and only takes about ½ hour.

also i will include a link to the international bodybuilding website to see what exersices you can do for diffrent muscles http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercise...

    hope this helps

ps. dont be anoyed if you see this answer somewhere else on the network. this routine is good and it works.

  3. A lifetime ...you cannot get big biceps if you are not prepared to train all your body parts .you need to join a gym train 3-4 times a week  each body part once a week should be enough and eat  healthy at least every 3 hours good quality carbs + protein oats potatos rice meat fish egg whites or if you have not got time a protein shake with 2-3  tablespoons of  porridge oats added .It does not matter how hard you train if you are not eating properly  you will not grow.

  4. not too long id say about a month to feel results and 2 months to really notice them

  5. i would guess somewhere between 2 months and 4. depending on how strenuous your workouts are and your diet. Eat stuff high in protein after you workout to rebuild your muscles or you wont see results. Milk, meats, protein shakes/bars, etc.

  6. WOW.  these answers are terrible.  you cannot expect to add 3 inches to you arms in a few months.  That is a long term goal maybe a year or more.  You dont want to work out for more than an hour at once.  And i would suggest that you do chest and back excersizes along with your arms. The body must grow together not just the arms.  And I seriously would not ask weightlifting questions on yahoo answers because you are getting bad information.  try a forum strictly for working out. like bodybuilding.com
